Tortilla Flats-play hookey

Ok, It seems as the run to Payson is called because of rain/snow.

I'm going to Tortilla Flats on Monday the 17th. I'll be at the chevron station about 9am give or take.

Mike

Mikie, News says that it is going to rain on Monday as well. Sorry..

mikiec 03-16-2008 09:18 PM

According to the weather channel it's a go. I'm leaving my place at 8am. Depending on rush hour I'll be there between 9 and 9:30.

Gonna be there I think. Tire seems to be holding air. Will try tomorrow to beat the snot out of the rim to get it straight. Got to get another rim before taking a long ride.

mikiec 03-17-2008 07:37 AM

Lousy day for a drive. It's raining out here.

HAPPY B-DAY Mike !

Danr55 03-17-2008 08:59 AM

Is this MIKIE'S birthday? He carefully hid that information. I guess Mikie and his tranny can finally come out of the closet. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MIKIE-C.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT.... .... ?? I guess that was for someone else, wasn't it...

dave from mesa 03-17-2008 09:27 AM

Happy B-Day Mikie
Aren't you up for mandatory retirement soon??
Does this make you and Old Phart?
Oh no that's Bill. :D

ya know it's been sunny here

John-Tucson 03-17-2008 09:28 AM

Happy Birthday Mike !!! So, how does it feel to be 62 ?

mikiec 03-17-2008 11:04 AM

All right guys... I have not recognized this b-day. I have decided to maintain a status of 59 and holding.

The weather is now great and the pinched nerve in my neck is telling me to take some drugs and apply heat.

Any runs planned for Saturday?? As it stands I have nothing on my calander.

Mike

Danr55 03-17-2008 11:40 AM

If there are none planned, I don't think there are, let's plan one. You're the Pres.. act like it! Use your executive authority and proclaim Saturday "Mikie's Birthday Run Day".. Remember, in the immortal words of George S. Patton, "When you're the leader, LEAD!"

What say the members?

John-Tucson 03-17-2008 11:42 AM

Hail to the Chief. Now make a decision.

Sunshine and blue skies out here in God's Country. I waited until 9:30 and no body showed. I, of course, just figured that the FORDS wouldn't start or, more likely, broke down in mid-trip. 'twas just a bit nipply but bearable with adequate layers of clothing. I did check the site before leaving the house at a little after 8, thinking some feeble excuse or other might have popped up. Nothing then. Guess I should have waited a little longer. I did enjoy the ride anyway and I got to burn some more fossil fuel. As for the weekend, how about something different, like maybe a run down through Florence to Catalina or maybe up throuogh Superior to Kearny?

Danr55 03-17-2008 12:40 PM

What about we go west? Up to Wickenburg, then to Quartzite for lunch and then home.. That would be something different.

mikiec 03-17-2008 01:23 PM

What about....

Wickenburg to Bagdad to Yarnell. Lunch in Yarnell. Taks some pics of the cars in front of the bagdad sign and send them overseas?

More back roads...

Mike

Danr55 03-17-2008 01:25 PM

count me in. I'll go.

John-Tucson 03-17-2008 01:57 PM

I have flown in and out of the Bagdad airport but never visited the town. I have heard that there is one restaurant that is ok. Sorry I won't be able to join you guys, Aida is having eye surgery on this Friday and I'll be taking her back to the doctor's office on Saturday morning for a post-operative checkup. Have a great trip. If any of you break down I'll be glad to come up there and help you fix the problem on Sunday, April 13th.

mikiec 03-17-2008 02:43 PM

John, She still has one good eye... She can drive herself. :):):)

Tell her for me I hope all goes well.

Mike

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 03-17-2008 05:07 PM

I'm free, or at least cheap, on Saturday. Mike wanted to make the Tortilla Flats run before his neck finked out.
