Looking For A Truck To Use Or Rent

DOUBLE UGLY JOHN HAS BEEN EXTREMELY NICE TO LOAN HIS TRAILER TO ME for the Great Western Cobra Bash..The problem is is that I don't have a truck to pull the Datona....The rental agencies won't rent a truck if you are going to tow anything...If you know of someone please let me know..I can either rent or you can use my 2006 Toyota Avalon until I get back with your truck.. Dave Shulak :)

Cripes Dave, you got a top, windows and A/C and you're still trailering it? ;)

Don't tell them.

Dave
What are the dates. Got a truck you can use.

Ford Dealers

Ford Dealers (some of them) rent trucks and allow towing.

Give that a shot. Here in the bay area, I could direct you to two such dealerships. In AZ, I have no idea...but I'm sure they exist; it's a factory supported thing.

Check PMs I am selling one but hope not to have it by then. Renting sure seems a better route if ya can find one. Lowes, Home Depot? jeff c

Maricopa, I just had Heart Surgery on the 18th I don't think that he'll let me drive the coupe that far..He's ok'd me for a family car or truck to drive....Dave

davids 04-24-2008 11:26 AM

I know Bill, it states that in my very first post... Dave

Maricopa 04-24-2008 11:31 AM

Ahh, tell your Dr. that Mike D. thinks he's being too cautious. Driving a Cobra is GOOD for you! Driving a big truck with a trailer is very stressful! ;)

davids 04-24-2008 01:07 PM

My sincere thanks to Double Ugly John and Dave from Mesa for the use of trailer and truck respectively .I'm very grateful to both of you... Dave Shulak

Your doctor does not have a clue!

Dave,
The stress of driving a strange vehicle pulling your car would be double++ than just driving it! I'll bet your Dr. has no clue as to what your great car is. Drive your car there. When you get back, try not to smile too much at your next Dr. visit. This is your last time through life, ENJOY IT!!
Bill (the great) Gildersleeve:)

I just might do that Bill.....

A little lesson on renting a truck and towing. If specified in the rental agreement this is not allowed then if an accident occurs you will be broke because you have no insurance. You violated the contract with the rental company therefore they and your own insurance company will not honor the contract between you and them.

If towing with your vehicle then you insurance company will cover damages caused by the tow vehicle and trailer but it will not cover damages to your trailer or cargo on the trailer.

It is interesting when you read the details of what exclustion exist.

I don't understand. Why would you want to have an accident? Personally , I tow things I want to keep in good condition. How odd...

Plan ahead, if the Dr. doesn't want you to drive long distances each day, extend the trip. instead of driving up in 2 days, take 3 days to make the trip. The money you will save in gas driving truck while towing a trailer with just about cover extra night in a hotel room. Make your plans ahead and book the rooms in advance so you don't try pushing yourself to the next stop. Take your time and enjoy the drive.

davids 04-26-2008 09:15 AM

Traveling alone Slither but my doctor is going to give me clearance to drive my car so I think I'll drive it up and back...John from Tucson is driving his car and maybe one or two others....so we'll caravan

davids 04-26-2008 09:16 AM

Thanks Paul, you're right.....Dave

davids 04-26-2008 12:31 PM
