Thanks Bob for the info. My expereince has been limited to street racing (in my past) and some drag racing but but not track racing. Although it can't be much scarier than the 140 mph I did in a 69 jag xke. It was about 10 years ago and being an english car I was convinced the entire car was at any time going to self destruct or try to fly! I vowed never to go that fast in any english car again! I am hoping John and the guys can get my car finished this week (minus the sperchargers) so I can start getting a bit of driving time in it.
Thanks again, Ron |

:eek:Wow! You need to go with Mr Carl at Speedworld. He and maybe 1-2 others around here have actually gotten in the 10s. Of course they were asked to leave after those runs. Carl lost all his noise :LOL:hair in that run.
Of course our cobras don't have any english %/parts :rolleyes:on them. Then there is going around the track with Gordon or Mulv and a few of the others..**) |
Yes, but its a "dry" speed, except for my shorts. The car's doing better. Previously, when i'd gotten a couple runs into the 10.70s with a 100 hp nitrous shot, I was running 11.40's on gasoline only. A couple weeks ago, I got and 11.14 at Firebird, without the NOS so I'm hoping to get into the 10's, without NOS, when the air gets cooler. THEN, I'll hit the juice, just for grins. Still working on the suspension setup. Carrying the left front wheel through first and second and want to do some more preloading to reduce that twist. Should have at least another 1/10th or so by just doing that, if I can. Places an awful lot of stress on the body and frame and makes going in a straight line a little dicey.

Hey, Ron...
Ask John-Tucson about his first autocross experience. He was the fastest on the course. :):):) Mike |
