Superformance Serial Number
I recently purchased a superformance cobra #2165. I am not as familiar with the superformance as mnay of you so I thought I would ask if anyone could tell me the approx year it would of been contructed. I am guessing 2005 or 2006. I will try to attach some pics. At the risk of being sacreligous, it has an automatic but does have a rather cool paddle shifter set up.
Thanks Ron |
Ron,
Sounds like one of Anthem's cars. Are you going to let the CSX sit and drive the SPF? I believe they are up to 2800+ in the number range. I'm sure Bob B will chime in. Mike |
Mikie, how are you doing? I hope recuperating quickly. Yes I purchased it from John just today. It was actually Johns personal cobra. I couldn't bear the thought of not driving the csx. It is just way too much fun but I am out of commission with it for the next 2 months as the front of my house in under construction and I have no driveway as they tore it out last week. I am just not brave enough to take the csx driving through the dirt and mud to get to the street. I am not sure if I am going to keep the superformance for a bit to drive or put it up for sale. Here is the link to the pictures.

Is that John's black SPF? with the Single Plane, 4bbl and Allis Chalmer Trans? Fun car even if it's automatic. Lots of HP, guessing around 650. 514 Crate motor. Well put together and well sorted out. Chirps tires at idle shift. Have a great time. You are correct on the build time approx. Now you can join us on SCOF. http://performanceunlimited.com/scof/index.html

Yes it is the same car. John hated to part with it but I was glad to be able to take it off his hands. It needs a bit of tweaking to make it more streetable since the motor is an absolute beast. It chirps the tires at 5 mpf almost at idle.

Ron,
I didn't even know that he had that car for sale? Why did he want to part with it? I know it's well put together too. Just needs a little TLC. |
I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It is a beautiful car. Like you said it just needs a bit of TLC.
|
Same car was on e-bay I think a couple of times, very nice!

Tim..
Everything John has is for sale. Well maybe not Tarja. :):):) Mike |
Mike,
He has my car, still waiting for the motor back from Roush. I hope he doesn't sell that. LOL I talked to Todd Andrews at Roush yesterday about my motor, he is to call me back on Monday with an E.T.A. He thinks it will ship next week back to Phoenix. I hope so. |

Ron, Mine is 2291 and it was built (as close as I can tell) about September of 2005. If you give it 30 days from build across the ocean and delivery to the SPF Dealer then September looks about right. I bought the car in Jan 06 and I think it was at the dealer for 30 maybe as much as 90 days. If it was 90 days then the build could have occurred as early as August 2005. I'll bet Superformance could give you original build dates if you asked them. Sort of takes all the fun out of the detective work though :3DSMILE: ... Ed |
Thanks I appreciate it.

Detective work is the worst...

Ron, SPF #2165 left the factory in South Africa on May 23, 2005.
