Punkin Center sounds fine. Is the Butcher Block open Sundays?
|
I bet I can call and check..Well maybe not.. I'll see if I can find out. Seems the Butcher Block is open on Sundays.
|
Butchers is always open. That is the place that sits back from the road behind the filling station. About 1/2 way between the lake and Pumkin Center. If I was going to be there I would say come on down to the boat. Very good change I will be there on the 31st but have dinner night of 24th. May do the run anyway if something not to late in the day?
Anybody going to Pavillions this Saturday. Isn't this the big weekend? Think I may go.:D |
For what it's worth:
I was up at the Pavilions a couple of weeks ago and the announcer said cars were starting to show up at 10:00 AM. I got there around 3:30 and only found a spot to park in because a guy just happened to be pulling out as I was approaching. The place was packed. |

That is the bummer with my car not going across the block until Saturday night. I can't get to there to grab that sucker!!! Oh well, I will keep my fingers crossed for The auction. So far it is not looking good (not a suprise) At least the higher dollar cars and higher dollar bidders come on Saturday night

If you guys are looking at going to punkin center, there is a great little restaurant in the middle of town called Becky's. Better food than butcher hooks, and they take large parties. We go there all the time and have been in there with up to 25 people at once. Becky is a real nice lady and could use the business. All food is made from scratch like butcher hook use to be. Try it out as I believe you will come away happy.

Tom, I'm up for it if you lead the way. Show us where to go!
I guess everyone understands that the run to Catalina has been changed to January 31. We'll meet the Tucson crowd somewhere along the way and stop for lunch down that way. After that, who knows. On January 24, we are still making a run. We are going up to Jakes Corners and coming back to Punkin Center for lunch, then continuing on to Globe and back to the Valley through Gonzales pass. Lonestar says that Becky's is the place to go so he has volunteered to lead the way. We'll meet at the Shell station on Shea Blvd. just off of B-Line Hwy. at 10:00 AM for a 10:30 departure. Everyone is welcome. Cobras, Chevettes, Mustangs and even the odd Oldsmobile or two. Hope to see everyone there. Two runs are better than one! |
jakes corner and Punkin Center
Maybe I will make the run and check the boat out; then get to town for dinner with neighbors.%/
|
I would love to go Dan. I would even lead the way. I'm going to have to decline the offer though. The truth is if I go with you guy's to Punkin Center, then I can't run at P.I.R. on the 31st. Quite a choice huh.
You guy's----Race car. You guy's ---Race car. Sorry ! It looks as though I am not going to Punkin Center. I will tell you know this, If you eat at Becky's, & tell her Tom & Kendra sent you there, you will not be disappointed. Have fun, and be safe. Lonestar #024 Tom |
I guess we'll let you off the hook this time. Good luck at PIR. Next time, you're on the hook to lead the way.
|
Come join the gang for more fun and less wear and tear on the car. Plus it will be cheaper.
Mike But then again, I'll not be there either. Taking Ginny's POS to a show to try and get it sold. |
Good Luck Mikie.. WHat's the going price for a POS these days?
|
Hey Tom, Do you have a phone number for Becky's in Pumpkin Center?
|
12,000 and it's yours
|
No Dan I don't. I wish I could help you there. If I can come up with one I'll get it to you. Have fun.

YOu bet Brian.. You can either join the East Bubscrew crowd at the Chevron at Recker and McDowell at 9:30 or at the Shell station on Shea BLVD just north of the Bline at 10:00.
|
Is there a place to gas up between Shea/Beeline and Globe along the route? I'm showing about 150 miles between the two places. That's pushing the range on a tank for my car. Surely there must be a gas station along the way [where the gas won't clog my filter].
