Hey, ITBITES

Eric, hope your fuel pump got you home yesterday, Checked TCI's web site and they want almost $6100 for the six speed automatic package. WOW. I'll be passing that up. Wish I had room for a Gear Vendors, but no such luck. Good to see you and your sweetie yesterday. Let me know the next time you're going to the track and I'll try to come pit crew for you.

I did make it home

Karl,

First, good to see you and the rest of the crew again!

Thanks for the good vibes. Not sure what the problem is with the fuel pressure. When I left y'all, I was down to 40 psi from a normal 55psi. Not good for the mixture, but I have an override for the fuel map and was able to add 10% across the board, which helped for a while.

I fueled up in CG, which seemed to solve the problem (I thought maybe the pump was sucking some air before the fill-up) until I got within 4 miles of the house. I limped toward the house and it completely died with no hope of recovery (35 psi fuel pressure) about 100ft from the garage, so I coasted in and did not have to walk at all. GOD is great and was looking out for Carole and I that day.

I went out a few hours later and the fuel pressure was back, started it up and put it in the shop without any issue!

I don't know what is going-on, but I suspect it is heat related, since the last occurence was with ~3/4 tank of fuel. I did feel the tank to see if I had circulated (return system) the entire tank enough to get the fuel really hot and it is cavitating (vapor locking) at the pump inlet. Note the pump is submerged in the tank. The tank was warm (it was 103 at the house right then), but not uncomfortable to touch at all. I suspect maybe about 110 - 115 degF.

Anyway, I'll figure it out eventually. We had a great time and didn't have to walk, so we were all smiles.
