Mike I am jealous, I have been stuck for 5 days at the same weight of 224. I am down 68 as of this morning and I am 9 weeks post surgery. I have been struggling to get the 90 oz of water in a day. 64 was easy but I know with the heat it has to be 90 not to get dehydrated. I also have to start on the B-12. Where did you get yours assuming you are taking it as welll. I just got a thumbs up from the 2 mo follow up except I need to start getting more exercise in. I have 50 more to go to hit goal weight. I have to say I am ready for some different foods but I have another 2 months before that happens

Ron, Try SubQ B-12 from Hi Health. One under the tongue in the morning and you're set for the day. You might also think about Flintstone Chewables plus iron.

Don't worry about the plateau. They happen. Suddenly you'll check one morning and you'll be down 5 or 8 pounds from two days ago. It happens like that.. The most important thing is to follow the rules exactly. You can't cheat even a little bit or it will effect the bottom line.

mikiec 06-02-2009 02:37 PM

Thanks, Scottie....

Ron,

Don't worry about pleateaus.. They come and go. 70lbs in 9 weeks is great.
I'll have to look at my records to see where I was at 9 weeks.

I get my B12 and chewable calcium online from the Vitamin shoppe.

On the H2O, I do 32 ounces between breakfast and lunch, 32 ounces between lunch and dinner, lastl 32 between dinner and going to bed.

Have you gone to the monthly support meetings? I go to the one held on the first Monday of the month.

congrats Mikie and Ron.
Keep up the good work.

csx4910 06-02-2009 05:08 PM

I have not made it to the support meetings yet. I need to. I found some great tasting chocolate chewable calcium (they sell it at the shop in scottsdale shea hospital) Thanks for the tip on the B12. I have been good about not cheating although I thought I would try the peanut butter I am allowed on a cracker and found out PB and the cracker will not pass through together. Thanks for the reassurance on the plateau. I just had not had one yet.
Ron

I just dip the spoon into the PB without the cracker. You should be able to get both down. Remember chew, chew, chew.

Sounds like you guys have worked up a winning plan. Does it include an apetite suppressant? I used to consume fat burners - Lipo6 for a year or so. But is is caffein based and wacked me out. I recently discovered Hoodia and am completely amazed. I always knew I needed to drop my daily caloric intake. Popping a hoodia cap a couple of times a day and I can go all day without the desire to eat at all. It's nothing but cactus. Amazing stuff.

Being over here in Houston, I'm an "outsider" to you guys. Hey, I used to live in Tempe back when for a while, so that's my street cred.

Anyway, y'all seem to be pretty hardcore and are posting some great results. What kind of program/protocol are you using? I'm about a month into a weight-loss commitment, and am only down about 7 at this point. Need to get serious and lose another 80 pounds or so.

Any help/tips/suggestions/synopsis you could provide would be much appreciated.

Gastric Bypass surgery. I would personally be very carfeul of what supplements you take to "lose weight" I am in the medical field and 99% of them end up finally getting pulled off the market after a few people stroke out or have heart attacks. Hydroxycut being the last one to get pulled off the market. Those types of supplemtnes hgave been kwon to have some nasty side effects IMHO

It's going slow Mike....35 pounds so far..I had lap band..... Dave

mikiec 06-02-2009 11:36 PM

I had the gastric bypass this past November.

Dave, That's great. We 3 are not gonna be recognized at the anniversary/christmas party.

Some of the things I was told to do: stop drinking carbonated beverages, no drinking of fluids before, during and after meals. A 30 - 20 - 30 minute regimen. Nothing to drink for 30 minutes before and after my meal, and the meal should be no longer than 20 minutes.

Giving up soda was one of the toughest for me in the beginning but I really don't miss it now. The ahrdest was slowing down and eating much, much smaller bites and chewing more. Good habits for everyone to lose weight as eating slower you feel "full" with less food
