Coffee and Cruise at Bondurant

THere is a coffee and cruise in at Bondurant's school at Firebird on Saturday morning at 7:30. It's free to anyone who wants to come.

Have fun there Danr. By the way, what's the 55 for? Bowling score? I.Q.? Height? Age minus 10?

Inquiring minds want to know.

AZ Bob

It's the number of knotches on my six gun from smart asses pushing too far..

dave from mesa 06-12-2009 06:07 AM

I think height.
Sorry Dan am leaving today for Flag. Gonna meet up with a Vette friend. We will see if he has the balls to drive his '62 with the top down instead of the newer one with hardtop, windows, and a/c.

Dam, didn't know that. For the hell of it I drove down there late morning to check out the Father's Day thing for next week. Found out it was just "lead and Follow" & Avoidance skills. After doing the other things that didn't sound fun..in the heat.

Saw Bondurant and his dog driving around in his SMART Car. Funny!
Thought maybe I could run into him and have him take me for a spin around the track a few times.

Ran into Levy with his rig over on the east track.

Should have been there ealier to see him run the course in a Bugatti Veleron.. Strangest sounding car I've ever heard. Sounded like a small jet.. A small UGLY jet.. Never seen a car that was so unbalanced looking.

Karl Bebout 06-14-2009 09:19 PM

Wonder who owns the Bugatti? Don't they go for over $1M?

Danr55 06-15-2009 08:01 AM

Some young guy who was riding with him. Looks middle eastern..Bob drove two laps, the young guy drove two laps then Bob drove two more laps.. It was interesting..

Any way we can run our cars around the track??

Hollywood 06-18-2009 07:52 PM

I want to know that answer too!! I would love to go to one of those, never been.
Regarding the bugatti veyron, it costs 1.74 million, have one up here at work if you want to see one. Worlds fastest production car quad turbo 1000 plus hp and 255 mph, good that it will run out of gas before you melt the tires yes in a matter of minutes at that speed.

It sits amongst the ferraris and lambo's, rolls and bentley's.

Let me know on this breakfast thing,

thanks jim.

Count me in if I am in town. I was down there this morning checking it out. Lead and follow, Avoidance running for the days. I watched.

Mike has checked into setting something up there and it is just too expensive. I always look for Bob B to see if he wants to take the car around the track for fun. Get him to sign dash etc. During the 4 day Grand Prix session I used my car with the Cvets out on the track. I am pretty sure they would still let you run your car. Tires tires tires... Talk about wearing yourself out. I never did get the heel toe thing. Pedals too far apart or something. My knee hurt like hell the next day from trying. Just double %/clutch the dam thing but it was the best fun I have ever had bar none.

Vetes smoked me in the turns and cures but not the strait away. It is all about learning the course.
