Bill, you might want to check out some of the newer detectors like this one that have an updatable database of photo radar sites. Won't help in every case, since they are putting the little buggers up everywhere as fast as they can. Not that I'd ever use one of course. ;) http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ix-details.php Fitz, sorry to hear about the ticket. :( |
"First off i didn't think i needed to include "school zones" and other similiar things as i thought everyone was bright enough to catch my drift. You proved me wrong on that count."
Bill, You should know never to assume anyone catches your drift. Especially in an internet venue. You are a trip & I enjoy reading your posts. Keep on giving the liberals the "whole nine yards!" |

If so,that's interesting. But won't help with the mobile vans the DPS is using. But,on that note, they (the vans) are getting ready to be taken off the roads in 2010 as the state is pulling the plug on THIS revenueing scheme". |
Actually it was just before Thomas Exit going south on I-17. For some reason I was passing some clown going to slow; holding the world press up. It got me and a few others who were going with the flow.
55 on interstates is/are too damn slow, especially in reverse!LOL: |

It's sort of like detecting laser or card counting at blackjack. You are just evening the odds a bit in your favor. The detector companies can't anticipate all the new stuff that is going to be used, so they are always playing catch up. With laser, unless they shoot a car closeby in front of you with laser and there is enough of the signal scattered for you to both detect it and slow down, the best detector basically just lets you know that you are probably going to get a ticket when it goes off and you are significantly over the posted limit. But the newest really good detectors are a lot better than the cheap ones and are still cheaper than most tickets not to mention your insurance going up for the next few years. It's also nice to have a lawyer for a friend (that the local DA or JP owes a favor to) who owes you a favor. ;) |
Lets see. You admit to breaking the law and getting caught. Any normal person would just pay the ticket. This whole thread reminds me of all those idiots years ago that were saying that the federal income tax was unconstitutional and you don't have to pay it. Funny part was that the head organizer of that movement was in prison for that very thing.

[quote=Cobrabill;962618]Really?The state just violated my constitutional rights and you think there is "No foul"?You must be a liberal.
So, you think you have a constitutional right to speed and endanger others? Where was that written. I must have missed it that day in History class. Pick your battles my friend. If this is the only thing that bugs you about this country and its NEW direction then by all means, go to it. |

Got a solution for ya, Fitz
I agree w/cbill that you could make a Constitutional stand. After all, it's the principle that counts. When you are guilty the advice goes that you should argue the law. seems that Cbill has your back on this issue. Maybe he is an atty? How about you make the test case that will help others in the country? Maybe CC could take up a collection for your defense. That is, if you need financing. cbill could be your atty? What do you think?

Now THIS is humerous.BTW-no need for an attorney. All you need is a 41 cent stamp to get out of it.Like i said- i've done it four times. As others have stated, the lanuage used is intentional to scare you into paying. But has no validityOther comments about not being "properly served" are also accurate. The easiest course is the one i have taken four times in the past. Roushac-i'm guilty of looking past those "smilie thingies". |
