Arntz Butler Watts Linkage

From all accounts from various sources, it seems like a Watts Linkage setup will enhance the performance on a Jaguar IRS.

The Arntz and Butler Cobras undoubtedly will appreciate this mechanical addition. So I'm motivated to create this post and make my ulterior motive public.

If enough Arntz/Butler owners raise their hands here, Nick AKA Mickmate on the forum may notice and get encouraged to do the R&D to create a kit.

I've been thinking of buying some of the components from Nick and doing the R&D myself. But I'm bogged down with a lot of custom work on my Cobra. If I catch-up and see the light it may happen. I still need to design and install my rear Anti-Sway bar before a Watts unit. So until then, if the ball gets rolling, Nick may create a solution.

Nick, sorry if I'm being presumptuous and sticking your neck out. If you are inclined to do so, you may also want to post your Watts video here.

Regards to all,

Arthur

Thanks Arthur I was trying not to hijack the other thread also. This link is Anthony's car with one of my watts links on it. The reason I post this one is the frame looks so similar to the Arntz/Butler cars.

Nick, I sent you a couple of photos via my iphone. The right side of the frame & IRS is shown. The frame where you mount the front bracket/heim joint is 4 3/8" further inward of the frame where the rear heim joint will bolt.

IRS is shown at ride height.

The Cone shaped top hat that you bolt to the Jaguar Hub is 2" outward of the rear portion of the frame. So 2" of space exists for your Watts linkage.

The front mounting bracket for the front heim joint will have to be 4 3/8" longer than the rear mounting bracket.

I just have to make sure that the front bracket will clear the anti-sway-bar that I have yet to design and install.

I'll send you a couple of bottom shots of the frame too.

Happy Sunday,

Arthur
