hey, new cobra Arntz in france
first of all, sorry for my english bt i'm french and i don't speak and write since 20 years (school !).:(
I'd like to announce I'm the owner of an Arntz Cobra to 1981 since two month. this Arntz comes from the USA and i have very little information about this car : motor = ford 351ci with big oil pan and alloy Rocker lever+ admission Edelbrock + carburator Holley 780cfm, Tranny type = Toploader 4 manual + jaguar rear bridge transmission. Front Shock absorber = MGB i thinck i would like to know "the brand" or the builder to differents organs like : brake, steering columns, ... I would like also dialogue, exchange and share with owners of cobra Arntz for details, images, ... thanks for your answers... Stéphane. |

Post some pictures of your Cobra and that will make it easier for the guys who are familiar with them to answer your questions. And they can most likely tell you what types or brands of components the builder used. And congratulations on your Cobra. You will have a lot of enjoyment with it. Ron |

Unless somebody did upgrades with something like Wilwood parts, the front end assembly is from a MGB. That would be brakes, shocks, and steering. The steering column is also from a MGB. The rear brakes and rear end are from a Jag XKE. Probably a Series 1 or II. You would have to post pictures of the master cylinder to get an idea what they are from.

The front is definitely MGB. The brakes I think are maybe Ford or GM calipers with GM rotors? I am not an MGB expert, but I believe the original MGB had solid front rotors.
The gas tank looks kind of correct. Mine is a lay down style, but I have seent he style you have. The gas fill tube is usually right behind the seats in the center. If you look at Donunder or 750HP pictures, they both have Arntz and see where their gas inlet is at. |

I have recently imported a very nice Cobra from L.A. The shipping has taken long time because of a strike at the harbour, but i received the car a month ago and was very satiesfied. I was told it was a Butler, but i guess it's an Arnzt from what I have learned on this forum. The chassis no. is GR 172. Does your car has a chassis no? Now I have run in to the problem that the danish authorities need some generel technical documentation of the car. And they have to be convinced that Arnzt was a professionel builder who made more than one kit. Did you have any documentation with your car? Regards Kim |
Kim, make sure if you are searching for information on Google, that you search using the correct spelling "Arntz".
