The Arntz roll bar is unique, but this one is different than any Arntz I've seen.

Whoa !!! Front dist, but it IS a SMALL BLOCK CHEVY !!!
Look at the headers, SIAMESED center exhaust !
Either the engine is installed backward, or it has a special front accessory drive, or its a 351 block with Chevy heads !
Otherwise looks like a very nice car for the money !

This blue Arntz with white stripes and burgundy interior has been for sale for quote a while. Prior to being on eBay, it was for sale at Brighton Motorsports in Scottsdale, Arizona. I spoke with them extensively about the car: not much was known about it prior to the owner buying it at Barrett-Jackson in 2009. I posted on this forum seeking member input in January 2015: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/arnt...-interior.html

After sharing the pictures of this car with Jason Smith (former employee of Ron Butler Racing), we determined this car is of the Type II vintage (1977-79)

The engine is a Chevrolet 400 small-block which supposedly has been stroked to a 427ci and has an aftermarket front mount distributor conversion, where the distributor mounts into a cast aluminum timing chain cover (Summers Brothers sells these new today). The engine also has a Moon intake with 4 Weber side-draft carbs. The chassis has replacement front suspension arms from Guldstrand (cast aluminum): which appear to be a vintage kit (no longer available) which should reduce front end mass.

In my opinion, this is a very sharp car in a very unique color combination. I did not buy it as I am in the middle of home renovations and need to wrap that up before I consider a different toy. Best of luck to its new owner! I hope they enjoy it and can learn more of its history!
