Alignment Specs

I recently got an Arntz with 454 Chevy in it. What alignment specs
are people using on these cars?

I assume you have the original MGB front end? If I recall, there is no adjustment for caster or camber. So you have toe adjustment only. I think I just set it 1/8" toe-in if I recall.

The rear has adjustment depending on your set-up. I think I have -1 degree camber and 1/16" toe-in?

If you plan on keeping the car for a while and driving it, you may want to look at the FAST front end. Kind of expensive, but definitely worth the money.

Yes, I have the MGB front end.
What year MGB is it from?

I could not tell you. They varied. I have seen an Arntz with the old style lever shocks, whereas mine had Koni's mounted.

Thanks. The car is at the local dyno for carb jetting. I take a picture when it gets back

From memory, I believe the Butler Cobra accepted the MGB IFS up to 1972. And yes toe-in is the only adjustment you can make.

I was the Guinea pig that undertook the first FastCars IFS transplant in a Butler Cobra. It is well worth the effort.

One caveat is that the 10" wide front wheels on the Butler result in excessive scrub angle geometry which applies to both, the MGB and FastCars IFS. The 2" wider FastCars IFS may allow for a different wheel back spacing that would allow for a decreased scrub patch. It requires investigation.

The Jaguar IRS, if you have the Butler adaptation, has no adjustment for toe-in. Camber is the only adjustment possible via the shim system that Jaguar engineered into the design.

Enjoy the toy!,

Arthur
