Stripes or Not?
5 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys
She is almost ready for inspection and registration, cant wait to get some miles on this thing she is a beauty. I was originally planning on adding stripes but i am really starting to like the understated look without stripes. The vast majority of Cobras have stripes so i am thinking of going without. If i did add stripes they would be either a dark silver almost gun metal grey or a more cream antique white, rather than bright white. Any thoughts? Anyway here are the latest pics of her in the sun. Cheers Ben |
With no roll bar I'd leave the stripes off. Great looking car!!!!

Thanks Tom
Yeah, I am really liking the understated look without the roll bars. Cheers |

Yep, no stripes! Looks beautiful and great color! Congrats!
My car has no roll bar and bumperettes, but stripes, side pipes, and scoop. I feel like it's a bit schizophrenic! Some day it will have no stripes and undercar exhaust... |
Nice!
I think the only thing that makes yours look a little fussy is the lettering on the tires. Without that i think it would look better. Perhaps you could try and photoshop the letters out to see what it would look like without? The side pipes on mine dont stand out so much as yours due to their dark color, they tend to blend in a bit with the dark Blue as well. But i am starting to really like the look without roll bars. I have no intention of taking mine on the track. Cheers |
I love it as is.

no stripes....please....
|
You could go with ghost stripes, that would make the stripes not so noticeable unless you are close to the car.
|
No stripes....they detract from the body lines
|
I prefer no stripes. I dont have stripes on mine and have been complimented on that aspect of the car. To each their own I say, I still love Cobras with them.
|
I like the idea of ghost stripes but i think i will go without totally.
Thanks for helping me make up my mind. cheers |
Another vote for no stripes....Unless you want stripes.
If you really can't decide on stripes or not, and want to "try before you buy" then take it to a local vinyl wrap shop and have them put some vinyl on it - that way you can see how it would look, before you spend big cash at the paint shop... |

Do you want it to look like the vast majority? If not, leave it as it is. Dark blue is a classic 427 roadster colour, and I'm taking a punt here that there probably were very few dark blue original 427 cars with stripes. I would leave it like it is. Cheers, Glen |
