Questions about Arntz/Butlers
I am rebuilding a Arntz/Butler and have many questions about the body, streering colunm, and many other things. I'm in the process of reglassing the inner body parts as they were removed by the previous owner. The problem I have is I have no pictures or info on the footbox and how it is glassed around the support bar that holds the doors. Any info anyone? thx

What do you need to know exactly? You can call if you want, Bill Sario 559-592-5315, CA. I built one and know quite a bit about them. My friend is still working on his. Good Luck.

Bad Venom,
Here’s a picture of the right door post with the foot box bonded to it. The foot box is all one piece with large radius corners. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...htDoorPost.jpg Steering rod attachment to foot box. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...dAtFootbox.jpg MGB turn signal. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...ColumnLeft.jpg MGB turn signal, my next project is to replace this with a VW unit with a high beam switch. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...olumnRight.jpg |

Dave,
It’s really neat to see all of your parts during the build stage. I bought my car completed. At tip of screwdriver, fiberglass tub (footbox) is inboard of the post. The glass is also inboard of the 60’ angle brace forward of the post. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...stAndGlass.jpg At tip of screwdriver, tub is closer to body to form a recessed area for the fuse blocks which are hidden behind carpeting. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23...ostAtGlass.jpg The glass in back of the post extends to and bonds with the body and goes all the way to the door sill. http://webpages.charter.net/howley23/TubBondToBody.jpg I may do a heater in a future project. I assume the general use of MGB parts in these cars would include the heater. |
