Harrison 15" Wheels/Brakes

Hello,

The normal front brakes on the Harrison running 15" wheels are the VT Commodore calipers and rotors.

Has anyone run anything else? Wilwood, Brembo another Holden product???

I would love to know. :D

Hi Stiffy,

Do you intend to keep using 15" wheels?

I'm running AP's all round with 17" Vintage knock off's.

You could use HSV 4 spots but I think you'd still need larger wheels.

RX-7 Series 4(?) calipers were used on rally cars years ago 'cause they were low profile. Skyline calipers as well in that pre 17" era.

Maybe Willwood has something that will fit.

Cheers

15's it is

Krait,

I want to keep the 15's for the look, therefore I need small calipers/discs
to get a bit of dish on the rims.

The VT's are OK but there must be something better and a bit smaller....

Stiffy

My Harrison is set up with 16" rims and Hopper Stoppers twin pot big brake pack for Holden hubs.

I bought my car part built with this setup and she's not registered yet so can't
vouch for them as yet. Looking at their website they should be an effective upgrade from basic GMH though.

Check out www.hoppers.com.au

Hopefully they'll be able to help you out.

Forgot to add this page from their site.......a good explanation of offsets, caliper clearance issues etc:

The problem you will find with a lot of the after market calipers like wilwood, harrop, AP etc is that they are designed with larger diameter rotors in mind. Fitting them to a smaller rotor makes for problems with the different circle radius of the caliper to the disc and the pads don't fit the discs correctly.

If you do fit an after market caliper look for one that suits the disc diameter you intend to use.

I'm using Hi-Spec calipers and they seem pretty nice. They are machined from billet and designed for UK road conditions. External dust seals make them ADR legal too.

Their Monster range has a 4 piston caliper designed for a 300mm rotor. This should fit inside a 15" wheel OK.

They also make them to suit pretty much any thickness rotor.

Cheers

Nissan R32 Brakes

Thanks guy's for the info.

Peter at Hoppers mentioned R32 GTR-T 2litre front brakes and rotors might be the answer.

Does anyone have a set around??? Been looking on the net but they are bit hard to find....

Stiffy, fire up eBay and use these search terms: R32 brake rotor

Hang on, you said 2.0L. Might not be that easy after all. Have you spoken to DBA/RDA/etc?

Stiffy,
about 4 or 5 sets on ebay atm going around $250 - $300 for a pair. I am currently removing mine to be replaced with Evo 8 brembos ( abit too big to fit under a 15" wheel). You could have mine for $250 if you like. They do have Brembo stickers on them tho.... paint a bit chipped but they look a bit better than the ones on ebay..

Brakes

SAMBO,

I can get the rotors from DBA but not the rotors.

TOWMASTER,

Are they available now? I need to see if they will fit. Are you running 15's?

Towmaster 11-12-2009 09:34 PM

yeah but i am in Queensland, they are off the car. I am running 330mm rotors atm with 17inch wheels. I will be running 343mm rotors with my new calipers, still under a 17 inch rim.

Making some upgrades there Towmaster? Do I hear the sounds of many men beating the drum to Nats 2010 victory????
