You could say we are f*#cked
Well one could say we are well and truelly f#*cked now...
Read this article. www.geelongnews.com.au The writer has also been on the news this morning along with the authorities whom indicated that the devices would also detect dB levels for cars that have a level 2dB or above the manufacturers specifications. They are going to be deployed to all regional towns and also used in metro. Melbourne..%/ My new XR8 ute that I have not touched would be 2dB above now that it is all burnt in. Not to mention in the next 10,000k when the cats are stuffed. Is this getting out of hand or what.. Be aware this will not only be trucks as they indicated that cars are also major contributors to noise.... In car stereo noise will also be targeted they said. So throw the clutch when you see one and also lift your foot if you see a camera car - and try to drive without hitting anything or anyone whilst we are looking out for all this sh!t.. |

Spell it out for this illiterate lil fella. Go on .... I dare ya.:LOL::LOL: |
That seems more about trucks and their brakes?
|
I am getting a horse.
|
Sounds like they're not being used for evil purposes *yet*.
Here's the direct link in case they take it off the main page. http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/...long_news.html |
Rolling through in neutral?!?

These have been in use in NSW for quite some time. There is one on the hill leading down to wollongong. It is there for trucks and i am pretty sure it is there for compression braking in environmentaly sensitive areas.
At the end of the day. When a public serveant working for the RTA sees a picture of a cobra on the camera that has been triggered by noise, do you think they will know what ADR to check against? I dont think we need to fear just yet. |

Sure I prepared to spell it out... DEKCUF...%/ |
I think the thoughts here are probaly more to the point. Aimed at trucks. But.....
 I know the area in question and for some reason trucks stand on the exhaust brake - JAKE BRAKE - and it echos across the valleys like wild elephants. Knowing the area - the domestic arguments, bashings, brawls, language and shootings around the side streets would set the the noise devices off first.. |
Sounds like a new game for the local lads......
The "lads" congregate near the "Noise Camera", just as a bog stock family car passes the "sound measuring area", make some very loud artificial noise and then..... snap, the picture is taken, and Daddy, Mummy and the two kids receive a fine in the mail. Hmmm, I don't think I'd be paying one of those fines in a hurry!!! |
Mmmm thought the same thing.... devious..
|
and i thought NSW was bad. no wonder so many folk are moving North. The thing with compression braking is that it saves money. A lot of money for some smaller operators who do a lot of K's. Phooey to the Vic Govt. In fact, Phooey to them all. A better deal for working families.... KRUDD!
|
Not sure its much better up here. Phooeys all round. Maybe Tony 'Rabid' could be approached to stop this nonsense?
|
Good to see you all are having as much fun as we are.
   |

Mmmm at least we have not got the Cal. SB100 yet. Maybe talking to soon though.. (California Senate Bill # 100 - emissions) |
