I'd like to pick up an original for 80k. He should go back to wearing a dress.

Ya beat me to it Brett.
I would even be happy to build one for $10K - or find a kit that leaves room to buy other bits and be at $10K

Later in the flick there is a small slot in the bottom part of the scoop.
I've got a good idea that the car he was driving was the one based on the Toyota Crown chassis.

Despite old petey being a cross dresser the show (Torque) I think wasn't bad. At least it didn't have a whingeing pommy doing power slides around an airport. ( I doubt very much that it was actually clarkson doing the driving any way)

I would say it is an EVANS kit out of the South Oz. W E Sports Cars sign on the shop a bit into the clip. If it is an Evans, it has a chassis designed by Paul Wooley and a body flopped of a DAX. I have one. :)
Cheers

Yes I remember the W E Sports cars ...they made a lamborgini and a speedster replica as well. He advertised his cars with a girly in a swimsuit draped over them.

During the 90's the South Australian state registration authority considered the leading edge of the scoop as a sharp pedestrian hazard and required all builds to close and round off the front of the scoop.
Brett's right, Wooley and Evans were in partnership in the 90's and built all their Cobra's on flat ladder style chassis, no Crown's
