Padded Rollbars
Noticed the American section chatting about it and wondered if its required here in AUS. re regs.%/

As the roll bar is outside the vehicle and also the fact that the new ADR for seats requires a height of 800mm (from memory) padding is not required that i am aware of.
I think padded roll bars generally are more required when inside the vehicle since the applicable ADR would be the one that relates to hard and sharp interior surfaces.
Just my 2cents, im not an expert.

With seats that high the roll bar should be built into the seat perhaps?

There was a time in Queensland that one had to have 25mm of padding. That made a 50mm roll bar 100mm when padded. Actually doesn't look too bad.
The release of some production open cars like MX5 etc. saw that relaxed to now not requiring a roll bar.
