THEN........ THE MILITARY got involved :eek:and she got real HI-TECH...the new MIL-SPEC...RIPSAW MS2 $$$$$ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlcenWPzsUU&NR=1 THEN......the AUSSIE'S gave their version an extra couple hundred HORSEPOWER and said we can do it as well...:cool:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UGsB...eature=related BUT...our MILITARY will wait 15 yrs before buying the US version and spend another $50mil on a spares package to update it to the current spec 2020 model...:LOL: |
I saw these a while back on the Discovery channel. They also built a small one on a quad bike chassis that I thought was pretty cool.
I think that Aussie one is built using a WW2 Stuart Tank as a donor for the running gear. Have a look at the track setup on the pic below. http://pevans.smugmug.com/Warbirds/W...29_U7GQL-S.jpg On a somewhat related topic a few years back a mate of mine changed jobs and now does maintenance on Australia's M1 Abrams fleet. We all thought he was pretty cool when he got his license to drive one and was driving them around at work. Lucky Bugger. Cheers |

The Laser Weapons System (LaWS), which recently “tracked, engaged and destroyed” a drone in mid-flight. It’s not their first laser gun, but it’s certainly their best. The system is similar to the Navy’s Phalanx close-in weapons system, which mounts a radar-guided 20mm Gatling gun on a swivelling base. Except with, you know, a giant friggin laser instead of bullets. There’s no word yet on when they'll actually deploy these, but hopefully it’ll be before enemy UAVs start perching. |
Not cobra related ..But interesting.%/
A few years ago,an Air Force physicist, sat in the snow and watched as auroras – similar to the famous northern lights – began to glow above his base in the wilderness. But these luminous forms weren’t created by nature. He had made them himself, with the help of an enormous array of antennas that can hurl several megawatts of radio waves into the upper atmosphere, creating brilliant light shows in the sky. The facility is known as HAARP, or the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program, and it is meant to answer some intriguing questions about the ionosphere. But it has raised even more questions among conspiracy theorists. Over the years, it’s been called a weather-control machine, a superweapon and the ultimate underground spying machine. As if creating artificial aurora borealis wasn’t freaky enough.:3DSMILE: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...d=3541&thumb=1 |
