Wheel recommendations...
1 Attachment(s)
G'day,
I need your advice on a few things relating to wheels. My plan is for painted Halibrand replicas, black like the attached photo. It seems Dragways are twice the price of Vintage (even with shipping /custom/ exchane charges etc). Is there a better alternative? I'm planning to run 17's. Can you run different size front and back's in Qld and what's your advice on width? Thanks |
Ad Guy,
My Harrison runs Vintage Wheel Inc knock offs, 17 x 8.5 front and 17 x 10.5 at the rear. Bob Lacy is a good guy to deal with. Your suspension will dictate the wheel offsets available to you which are important to the final look. Cheers |
Team 3 make a very nice looking set of halibrands. I know of a couple of Australian guys that have them - and they come in a very wide range of offsets.

Ad guy,
Check out www.wheelboyz.com they are in QLD and really easy to deal with. There is an American Racing cobra replica wheel that is quite nice and comes in custom offset. I can recommend these guys, i bought American Racing Torq Thrust II in custom offset and they were really helpful with calculating the offset for me and the wheels fit perfect. Good prices too. |
Quite a few of us have bought from Vintage Wheel Works (different company) in the US. Good prices and great service from Eli.

Dragways on my Harrison
16" x 8" Front 16" x 9.5" Rear Higher tyre profile gives the wheel a bit more vintage look IMHO |
I bought Team3 wheels from the U.S. for my Harrison,17x10 & 17x8 and I'm very happy with the look and finish. They were easy to deal with, great price and when I gave them all the details they came back to me asking if I was sure about the different PCD from front to rear. The reason I chose Team3 was the cool cover they have for your wheel nuts, it makes the wheels look like knock-offs with out being knock-offs.
If you are after a black centre it wouldn't take much to give them a coat of paint. Cheers, Guy http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0/P1050188.jpg |
Very nice Guy!

I have been researching this for a while now, i hadn't found the team 3 wheels before. The wheels I was looking at were Coys C-67 they come polished, gunmetal and flat black. by the look of it they are about half the price of the team 3 wheels at $150 to $175 USD. I have not contacted them yet, as Im not ready for the wheels, but they look the goods, and they have plenty of options for offset. only drawback is they only do 17" and 18". Which is good for me, as I was going for the 17"s

Thanks guys, advice greatly appreciated.
