Nah more because I would like to attend both Nationals and Shelbyfest each year, I would love to drive the Cobra too and from the events but reality is that I am beter to tow incase something breaks on the Cobra and it is not able to be driven home.
I have the trailer I built to tow to Shelbyfest, I also recently used it to drag a car home from out bush, the corrugated roads have caused alot of cracks in it and I will be adding more steel for brackets and gussets to strengthen it up.
I would like the trailer to be super strong so I can take it out bush each trip and bring something home (using a work car), doing so will mean I need a stronger tow car if I am to use it to tow Cobra south.
I could fit V8 and auto into the blue valiant station wagon I have, but not sure if by doing so I could keep it on club rego (modified from original).
I suspect I can as I was permitted if I wanted to put Cobra on club rego.

The Bedford is going to be given away as it is (I will clean it up and get it running properly)

And I will be able to make a dedicated tow vehicle for the Cobra out of the 2 trucks (although I am actually passing the word around I am looking for a 3 series Dodge (only after a chassis) (Chassis is not as tall, body is mounted lower on chassis, has 16 inch wheels) but all other parts are the same as my 5 series vehicles.
So far I have invested a total of $100 on the Dodges (plus $10 fuel)

So at the end of the day if I deem it not worth while I have spent $110 but have approx 5 - 6 tonne of scrap steel I could sell and I have an engine I could fit into the Station Wagon.

One of my earliest memories At about the same age (4 or so). I was in a busy department store with my parents. The place was packed with people, it must have been Christmas shopping or something. I walked past the top of the escalators and spotted a red button on the side near where people were stepping off. Now they wouldn't put a button there if they didn't want a little boy to press it and they most certainly wouldn't have made it a red button. This little boy pressed it and an escalator full of busy shoppers came to a very abrupt halt. I thought this was pretty cool but the angry looking people on the escalator didn't and my parents weren't to impressed either as they grabbed me and hurried me out of there. :o

The days before public liability insurance ....

there were no stop buttons, my hand was jammed in there and the stairs they just kept a coming untill they pulled me out, i remember it all. no insurance either

I've always been careful/nervous taking my daughter on escalators ever since she could walk. She always has to hold dad's hand. She especially likes riding the travelators the have at some shopping centers (the ones where you can take a trolley on). Kids see them as fun and can't see the potential danger.

no i know you werent mike, it was a pretty rare accident, any mention of escalators brings back the memories, but they are a lot safer nowadays, di fingleton the qld magistrate is the only other person ive heard of who had the same accident and lost a couple of fingers.its funny when people ask how i lost them and i say on escalators and they say no way what when the doors shut:eek:

We lived in Asia for many years, all our kids were born there. Riding on escalators, even in 'well maintained' buildings was always a concern as the comb plates invariably were missing several adjacent teeth allowing little toes to get caught.

i was sitting down, going down and when we got to the bottom mum said get up so i put my right hand down on the step to stand up and in they went, mum feinted and it took quite a few people to get my hand out, made quite a mess over 100 stitches, but i still swing a hammer and do most things right handed, being a builder most people think i lost them in a saw. :)
