Used Alloy 302/5Ltr block wanted

Anyone got a new/used alloy 8.2 DH block for sale. Not fussy about make but must be in good condition and able to be assembled not more than 20 thou over standard bore.

A mate is looking for one and I thought our American friends might be a better chance.

Send me a PM with details and contact email addy etc.

Les - I'm a picture of good looks and health as ever. Dad is still the cranky old bugger he always has been.

(Just checking to see if he reads all threads...!)

Nah mate, we're both OK. I think we'd be better though if we saw a GenIV powered RMC make it's way to a Cobra breakfast soon.

I hope your mate finds an alloy block for the right price. I shied away from going alloy with the supercharged motor as they recommend grout filling them to the plugs when you get up towards 20lb boost. Seemed like a waste to reduce weight, only to add it back. There are dyno tests that have showed a 30hp loss in a 1000hp motor with the alloy block, so that made up my mind.

Now, for a high rpm / light weight naturally aspirated motor, that's a different deal altogether!

Well, that's exactly what the motor will be Craig.
A Lightweight high RPM, naturally aspirated jigger to go into a lightweight twin rail RMC that is currently powered by a poor little 289 iron block Windsor which currently performs very very well around the hill climb circuits.
