The 40's are neat. I've got 2, a 1982 with a 350 Chev, that one being the yellow one and a 1984 LX model in pretty original condition that I intend to keep as is.

The yellow one is slightly modified and is a real weapon off road, longer wheelbase, shackle reversal, lockers both ends,.........

The best part is when the roof is off, and I never plan to sell them, as I always see people with the sad face thingy when they mention selling them.

Good luck with your sale boxhead, the troopies are great for touring this place and good tow vehicles.

Sad to see them just waiting to be reclaimed by the earth again.

That tray is worth investigating as people are on the look out for original trays for their 45's.

The yellow ones body looks in good condition i.e. not too much rust in the usual places as well i.e. around the back doors.... and that looks like surface rust on a car that rolled. Looks like a late model one too.

Someone out there could strip some of the parts and flog them on ebay if they had nothing to do as I guess the owners are long gone.

It must be amazing to see the stuff that people leave out there, I liked your trucks, they were cool.

I miss my FJ40 to this day. In some ways the cobras evoke a similar spirit. Simple, brutal and functional. I kept an FJ80 till the urbanites discovered them. They seem to have lost track of their genetics of late. I guess that is progress. The 40 was my favorite. It went slow well.

Do the Hummer kits fit on them..

I think the hummer kits are for Patrols.

I have checked in the past :)

That just sucks. I have had a dozen US Cruisers (40, 60 and 80 Series), been all around the world in them, and I would give my left nut for a 70 series diesel Troop Carrier.
