Remote brakefluid reservoir fluid level sensor
Hi Guys
I need to add some brake fluid level senors to my remote resivoirs. I'm looking for something that can be modified to fit my existing alloy caps. Any Ideas? |
Hi Dave,
Here's what I did: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/australian-cobra-club/75716-wilwood-mc-float-switches.html Cheers |
Thanks Mike
I knew you had done something just couldn't remember. I'll head down the wreckers now I know what to get. |
brake fluid level sensors
Hi Dave
Check out RS Components. They have various generic level sensors that can be fitted into any sort of container. I purchased some for my brake reservoirs in my GT40 and they work really well. Dimi |
Hi Dimi
Any chance of some part numbers and maybe a pic or two of your set up? You can send it to my email if you can't resize for the forum. I went to the wreckers and half the sensors I got don't work so something with new parts would be great. |
Hi Dave
The sensors you need are from RS Components. Look for the RSF50 Series liquid float level sensor. They are $21-20 plus GST. These can be configured to be either normally open or closed by reversing the float on the shaft. Just drill a mounting hole in the lid of the brake reservoir, fit the sensor and you are done. They work very well and are the ones I have fitted to the brake and clutch reservoirs in my GT40. It pays to include the clutch as I had a leak in the slave cylinder seal and if not for the sensor would not have known until I would have run out of clutch and been left stranded. Dimi |

I got some sensor from Jaycar. My covers on my Reservoirs come off so instead of putting them through the cap I put mounted them in the lid. No floppy wires hanging out of lid.

Master cylinder reservoirs installed and working. Thanks Dimi for the ideas.
