Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say hello and let you all know I am a very proud owner of a Superformance 2789.Have just ordered a new Coyote 5 Litre and a Tr6060 so am hoping to be the first Mk III with this motor configuration in Oz.I may not be, so will surely here from any one who has done it.Am looking forward to the build. |

If that's the Blue with white stripes SPF that was at CTC in Warragul then, the CTC boys tell me you beat me to it by 2 days! Congrats on the purchase, I was dreaming of the same build. If it uses the same bolt pattern as the 4.6 then they already have them if not you might have a little extra effort to get the car on the road. The other thing to pay attention to is the header/transmission packaging. The T-56 and TKO versions of the Tremec boxes have their rear tailshaft mounting points different by several inches. The T-56 is a longer transmission but uses a shorter bellhousing depth (5.34") vs the TKO which uses a deeper bellhousing (6.925"). The differences in transmission tailshaft mounting points occur after taking into account the different can depths. The upshot of all this is the header exit in the fender. It will work with only one transmission/can combo but not the other - unless SPF makes a set of headers for the other transmission/can combo also. If you haven't purchased a transmission or can yet you might want to check with SPF to see what they built the Coyote Kit for before spending your monies. Ed p.s. just reread your post and saw the TR-6060 selection. Definitely get to Superformance and find out which transmission/can combo they built their installation kit / header package for. It will definitely save you a lot of effort and fabrication expense if you use the same components they did. |

Yes exhausts are underneath so was going to mod the gearbox mount anyway for the TR6060 as the box is comming with an aftermarket SFI blast proof bellhousing and I do not know the depth of the bellhousing.Its all fun.From what I have heard the Coyote shares mounting points with the 4.6 litre but could be wrong.The headers that come with the car are for a for modular 4.6 so we will see if they fit.

One other thought might be helpful ... When you locate the oxygen sensors, a popular location is in the collector just ahead of the muffler (if you run side pipes). I originally had my side pipes modified to locate the sensors there. It works much better if you get them closer to the engine like the factory does. If you use the factory iron headers then you have the OEM locating point available. If you intend to use side pipes then there is a little work that needs to be done. I ended up locating my sensors at the junction between the headers and the side pipes by sandwiching a 1.375" (35MM) thick stainless block between the two (on each side of the car) and welding in two sensor bungs. One bung is for the OEM sensor and one is for a wideband sensor for tuning purposes only. The center of the block is milled out so the sensors get exhaust from all four cylinders. When you do this you have to shorten either the header or the side pipes by an amount equal to the thickness of the stainless block you have added for the oxygen sensors to get everything to look right on the outside - if you choose to run side pipes.
