Hey Merv

Sorry I missed your question.........haven't been online for a week or so.
Re the pads, I've fitted them but yet to give them a run, tied up on other things. If the local roads dry out in next few days I'll post a report.

I figure there's no great hurry while we wait for paperwork from authorities, then make an appointment for final check...........a few months i think did you say? :(

It was 6-7 weeks in my case Greg, but different stations have different arrangements

Fitted the wagon master cylinder and noticeable difference. Much more rear brakeing. Happy with results. How did u go Greg?

That's interesting, thanks Merv.

I'm undecided with my testdrive, really not a heck of a difference it think.

It stops "on a dime' though.

I called Ray to clarify what Qld Transport are looking for and he tells me they don't test the cars' front and rear brakes simultaniously, they're just looking for effective braking but not bias.

He's mainly concerned with the front locking up too early and the subsequent potential for loss of control.

So am I looking for front lockup just before rear?

Merv and Sharon 02-27-2011 07:27 PM

Yes Greg. The wheels will lock up without ABS. But never rears first. Ideally fronts just before. My rears now will lock up just after the front on really full on brakes. Before they wouldn't. Brakes straight also.
