recommended gearbox clearance?
How much clearance is recommended between the gearbox and tunnel? I am running an ls3 with T56. I currently have about 20-25mm on each side, which seams like enough but would hate to start her up and have rattles.
Cheers.

G'Day Liam,
I have urethane engine mounts and about 10 mm between the bell-housing and the chassis on each side. My tremec is pretty close to the tunnel above and I'm having a small problem with the new rubber gear-stick boot...being new and stiff it actually pulls the thing out of gear when I'm in top and just coasting. It's fixable.

Most would consider 10mm as acceptable minimum clearance.
If your mounts allow more flex than this, then they aren't up to the task.
20-25mm is plenty.
