oops broken windscreen (new thread)

I opened the shed this morning and there's a crack from top to bottom, right in the middle of my windscreen

It's been fitted for over 12 months, I drove the car 300km over the w/end and also yesterday, put it away with no crack and now there it is.

Anyway, I've read all the posts here on this issue, so before I replace it the major thing that seems to stop it reoccuring is to get the new one fitted with urethane, not the rubber gasket.

I'll do the string line check and does anyone reccon a midscreen brace is
necessary?

Any further suggestions appreciated

There was a post on the US forum claiming that the centre bracket causes it to crack because of the body movement. I dont know if that is true, but might be worth investigating.

At least the glass is pretty cheap. mine was $140 from Obrien.

Have cracked two screens over last 5 years in nearly the same position. First occurred without windscreen brace, being driven on a typical NSW road, roughly patched etc. The second time was at Eastern Creek over Easter and have had a centre braced installed after the first break. The racetrack is smooth, no potholes, patches etc, and didn't jump the ripple strips.
I can only put it down to body flex. Good thing is I always get a free new one - thanks to Shannons.
