Street Machine magazine Cobra mid 90s Hi everyone. There was a black Cobra from Street Machine magazine from the mid 90s I remember. Had chrome Simmons B45 wheels. Does anyone have any pics or information on this Cobra? |
|
Are you sure it was the mid 90's? There was a Classic Revival that is very dark purple with billet wheels that look similar to B45's. Did it have holographic sculls in the stripes with word bubbles saying "I wish I had a Chev"? |

Have you just bought this car????.....%/ |

Listen to the man above!!! |

I remember the car. I seem to remember it ran avgas with about 12.5:1 compression. Sat really low at the back. I'll see what I can find |
|
I've found the Feb02 edition (P40) has a 66 replica in Silverstone Blue but it's out of Sweden. I'll keep looking... |

You have to go all the way back to Apr/May 95 page 70. it's a Dax, doesn't say what year but considering there was a 2yr build and it appeared in 95 that makes it at the latest a 93. Cleveland 351 30thou over, SVO gear, Motec injection, 13:1 compression, jag running gear, supra 5spd box, Simmons 16" wheels, standard red leather interior, single full width hoop, Victorian DX-351 plates. The owner was Gary Tierney and luckily enough he was a fuel distributor by trade! I'll fire up the big machine and see if I can scan some pages. |

Nice car, especially for the time. Would be cool to be featured in Street Machine. Ben |

 Well spotted! |

A well constructed car. Some of the ones I have seen from that period were as well, if not better, built than some more recent ones. Thick 'glass, good quality in most of the materials and an effective and simple fit out mechanically, without too many extras. Black always looks good too. |

jcraigau - you are a legend. Was one of the cars I always remembered but could never get information about. I was only 10 when I saw that magazine and still remember it! |

Hails from bendigo if memory serves me right. Came over for the Classic Adelaide a couple of times but that was a few years ago now. |

2 Attachment(s) Hi. My father now owns this shelby cobra in Victoria. We where pretty excited when we seen it was in a magazine once. He is actually trying to sell it. I was so excited when I found people were looking for it. It is a beast. |
|
Still looks great. Do you have the specs and a price (or a link to a current advertisement)? |
