What a load of bollocks!

Will save $1.5b in public health over 20 years? That is the biggest load of rubbish i have read. It is not new cars that are the major cause of pollution. What about looking at all the old trucks and vans that are on the road bellowing smoke. Its been 12 months since i read it, but from memory the Environmental impact statement that was released states that it is something like 10 years before the changes to emmissions can be measured. So why change before the 10 years when you have no idea if the last change made a difference?

Will be interesting to see the reaction of the major manufacturers over this.

We got ADR79-xx because John Howard wanted the GST and Meg Lees wanted tighter emissions.

I wonder what the other deal behind this might be MRRT maybe.

All political parties are supporting this. It seems that many new cars already meet the current Euro emissions standards and most of the others were expecting it anyway?
