From poster "skywolf" in Jalopyjournal:
Quote:
Before the Cobra, Carroll Shelby, Jim Hall and Gary Laughlin had three 1959 Corvette chassis bodied by Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena, Italy. The three Texans hoped to put the car into production but the powers at GM didn't think that was such a great idea. Only three were ever built, their aluminum bodies styled after the beautiful Ferrari Tour De France. When FoMoCo came out with their thin-wall V8, Shelby served up the idea again and the rest is history.

This is clearly not the same car, but some elements like the side vent treatment are loosely similar. Possible that this car is based on the Cobra/Corvette hybrid idea?

Delighted to confirm that the piece of **** in question has absolutely nothing - nothing at all - to do with AC Cars. Not even in their worst nightmares.....
That thing is to Cobra what Britney Spears is to nuclear physics.

Jolly good on the Britney/nuclear physics analogy, haha!; but nobody suggested that AC Cars was even remotely involved. They certainly had little to do with the Scaglietti Corvettes. As for it being a piece of ****, aside from the corny Cobra styling cues, it ain't all that bad. Not great either, but I see many so called authentic Cobra replicas that are just as - if not more - jarring to the eye.

These clever British authors have such a way with words. I try, but I'm pathetic:
Alan Lubinsky is to AC Superblower as non-delivery is to butt ugly no sale.
AC Greyhound is to my dog as ... Hey wait a minute Trevor, that does not have anything to do with your choice of pet, or does it? I swear it is a coincidence in my case. :JEKYLHYDE
