Overriders I have been contemplating a different look for my Harrison cobra and have a question for any one who may be able to help. Do I need to have overriders on my Harrison cobra for registration in Queensland ?.........Muz |

Muz Plenty of cars have passed without any bumpers or overriders. The only query may be the departure angle not incorporating the corner of the fuel tank. Geof |

 Thanks Geof..........Muz |

Muz mine was just registered. I had quickjacks fitted on tubes that fix to the chassis which are a no go on the front but ok on the rear. I removed them and the car passed with no bumper at all on the front. As long as you have the steel chassis members extending out from the radiator mounts to behind the headlights as should be the case if your Harrison is a newish version. My car is #38 and a potential issue arose with my engineer as the rules require that there need to be some sort of bumper that continues along the whole width of the front and rear of the car.....even if behind the body shell. I chose not to modify my car and the inspector didn't mention it....just another of those issues that may arise if the inspector is picky I guess. |

Thanks Mate..........my chassis ( 107 ) was one of Warwicks last ones without a bumper fitted. I have since added a bumper member which extends about 120mm beyond each chassis rail, so it should satisfy bumper requirements. My thinking at this stage is a clean fibreglass body, with stainless grill a bit similar to Ferrari 430.............will see ? May cop a flogging from the purists !!..........but it will only ever be a replica......especially with a LS2 power plant. Muz |

They are all originals Murray! Saw this one the other day with no over riders, front or back, and a mesh grille. Was also painted a nice flat black with black stripes - the only shiny bit. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ium/rear13.jpg |

Merv, Looked over the same car this arvo..........not sure if I will follow thru' with no overriders ( have started to fit them )........but I like the clean look, with the right paint / striping and possibly a grill. Meant to say Ferrari grill was similar to 575......not 430 as I stated earlier. Muz |
