A bit off the subject..!
Hello Folks, The next door neighbour has purchased a "SeeDoo" speed boat. Apparently they had two jetski engines and pumps in them. The boat weighs a ton and it's amazing how they used to go so well. Soo this bloke has had a brainstorm to fit a LS1 to a larger pump and hang this out of the boat. He asked me what temps should this engine run at and where can he get the proper bits to make the engine 'marinised'. I'm not familiar with Chevrolet engines or their pretty bits....so I'm asking if anyone knows of an Australian supplier of marine engine bits and what temp the engine should run at. I'm guessing about 90 deg C before a fan cuts in. Any info would be a help.....this bloke needs it ! :)

Beejay will have your answers, he has just built a LS powered ski boat, But I think he is out enjoying it over Christmas break, so not sure when he may reply.

I am not sure if David is still part of Kincaid Marine. If so he will be able to assist with all answers and supply as you mentioned. David has a friend Mick W. who is also a good resource for both answers and know how. Bernie |
Heading up the river tomorrow to give my boat a run.
These guys are spot on, Kincaid have all the bits you need, but it is still a bit of work. I would not worry too much at this stage about the temp setting, it is the least of your worries! I am running a heat exchanger as I do not want river water in the block. Runs about 180 to 200 deg F flat out. You can buy marinised LS style engines off the shelf, but they are not cheap. I can help with advice on fitting to a mid mount, but have limited knowledge of jet boats. Ben |
You guys are the best....Thanks for the info. I'll tell the neighbour and make him happy.
His missus will probably hate me though. ha ha ha. I hope you are all having a good Christmas day (what's left of it) Thanks again, Rob. |
