Ta and cheers
Thanks Treeve for taking the time to help me understand the ins and out of regoing an interstate cobra and whats involved with the current ICV build process from our telephone chat.
I am sure we will chat again offline soon and i am more than happy to help promulgate clarity and guidance towards an established baseline model standard to improve the transition through the certification process. It is a great thing when professional engineers from different fields can network towards a common goal and passion and once I have my own cobra I do look forward to interacting with those in the know on this site. Kind regards Adam:) |
Don't discount the torana based suspension... Fastest registered car at the Nationals....
|
I dont know the car, but this was in last weeks Darwin paper.

Good luck with the search, I guess you dont need help. |
AH...I get it now....
Actually, I had seen that car before but did not realize it was the same one until 750 HP posted the link, so I was not being cheeky with the advertisement online comment ( I had not added to four yet %/)..and I appreciated your post. Still getting my head around these smileys..they keep moving around...So definately still appreciate any good intel. Thanks AdS |
Ads,
There is one on ebay which may be of interest. I do not know it or can recommend it. But the pricing may be a starting point to guage and its nsw as well. The engine bay is a bit of a crime scene (no offence anyone, or owner) but can be easily worked on. AC Cobra 2002 Model Replica | eBay |
Cheers
Thanks for the intel Leroy, definately a good fix a upper and finisher offer.
I do not suppose there is anyone in the Byron Bay, Ballina Area who could do a remote check...its a fair drive from the central coast if the car turns out to be a Hound:rolleyes: |

Considering it is a registered NSW car, and looks quite good from the pics, I'd say it would be a great starting point to make your own! |

Cheers and done...you got mail! I agree to a point Gav but it will go for a fair bit more than 32K with 5 days to run and 8 bidders already. |

Here's another possible low cost option for you, or anyone else that may be interested. Comes with GENUINE Coca Cola heritage... That might be worth a couple extra bucks to someone later down the track :o Lot TBA - Snakepit Cobra 427SC Replica Roadster - Classic Vehicle Auctions - Shannons Just quietly, I don't mind the 2 jags on offer either: Lot TBA - Jaguar C Type (Le Mans Recreation) - Classic Vehicle Auctions - Shannons Lot TBA - Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe - Classic Vehicle Auctions - Shannons PS: I have no affiliation with any of these cars. |

I don't know the owner, but I think there are scruffier ones out there.... |
There are plenty of shiny bling cars out there that the quality is a little less than it looks on.
So I say have s look before you say "it's a good fixer upa". May be a very good base that a weekend spent cleaning, adding color and rerouting wires wouldnt sort out? I do not know the car nor it's owner. But it does tick the NSW Rego that seemed to be a major priority. |

Gav, certainly was not putting it down at all, and after speaking with the vendor I am likely to have a crack at it. There may be some over heating issues that will require resolution and a few other things as well, but certainly what I am after. I can still have a bit of a play without the drama of building an entire NSW compliant 2012 car. That engine bay needs some work and LPG injection will be a must me thinks. Greg - byroncobra - has been good enough to organize a once over and awaiting feedback I will have a crack at this one for sure...so cheers for that fella and just another great thing about car clubs and the forum. Thanks Also to DIMIS...I actually had a look and sit in the snake-pit car last weekend and I do not mind it either. The LVPC compliance plate does offer a lot of freedom for enhancement without some of the engineering restrictions on ICV's within this state. I was a little concerned that the diff is off centre by about an inch or so, so some adjustment and realignment will be required on this car (ie rhs wheel is slightly proud of the guard and an 1cm closer to the front of the rear wheel arch than the LHS that sat an inch or so further in from the guard and had a larger gap to the front of the arch). The bonnet scoop will also need work and there is alot of tidying and performance enhancement required under the hood.;) Has anyone effectively bolted on a roots type SC like a Harrop or Eaton set up, rather than the centrifugal set up onto a ford 5.0 HO engine. If so I would be keen to hear about it too.**) Any how we are getting closer to the first goal and I appreciate the finds you guys are posting... Cheers Ads:) |

Thanks for that Greg...unfortunately got pipped at the post for this one but appreciate the effort you put in to check this one out for me...... more on this in this thread..... http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/aust...utes-left.html Time to action plan B. ;) |
Hunt done, now have a nice AC rep...some quick pics below.....
http://photostand.co.za/images/vr3iy5ti2q5nuwtgj25m.jpg http://photostand.co.za/images/zs4sbnfi6lrl0hqxhu.jpg Will put up some better ones when I have had the chance to clean him up again as got hammered by the rain all the way back from Gunnedah yesterday. You learn how to drive these quick when is thumpin down  Just a quick note here to Kevin, the cars previous owner builder...the finish of this car and the effort clearly put in to present this car in such pristine show conditions is a credit to you and I am not surprised to see that the car had one so many accolades and trophies for your efforts. Rest assured I will do my utmost to maintain the standard. Cheers Adam. |
Well done! Did the dog come too? Car looks great.
