I may be wrong but surely you have to be a motor dealer of some sort to buy trade plates.

Very dodgy, as they are only meant to be used for day time use, and then only when road testing a vehicle after repairs, or when trying to sell, deliver etc.

You buy a 'trade plate' its basically a plate you put on an unregistered vehicle that allows you to drive it..... it's a bit dodgy..... but doable I think.

Correct, you have to be a registered business in motor industry, with a business location with signage (hence I got a sign made mid last year)
I got sick of asking mates each time I needed to move a car.
