I don't really care whether this goes on or not, what needs to be said has been said here many times over!!
Do something about it!!!!.... If you want too Pi$$..... 3k or what ever amount against the wall and call it a lesson learnt, I'm glad it's your wallet and not mine. Statute of Limitations has no role to play in the options available to re-coup the monies owed!!! But obviously you believe Tucker's high MORAL standards will eventually get the better of him and the restitution of all outstanding $$$!!!.. will happen and all that have sat patiently will be satisfied!!! Dream-on!!!! That is why this keeps happening... Like I said they have options!! But what would I know!!!..Or what don't you know???!! I'll go back to lurking in the back ground!! And justcob mate if you think this is any way a form of support for Tucker as you've suggested on the other thread ....you really are delusional!! OZ :).... |
Justcobra, I agree with some points made by both you and OZCOBRA. I have taken 5 people to small claims court and won 5 times and more importantly received my money. The claims were for no amount greater than $2000 but I received my money not because I won the cases but because the people were rule abiding. "Morally Obliged" is just a catch phrase. If any of my clients decided not to pay, there wasn't a great deal more I could really do without spending more money and time.
OZCOBRA is correct in that due diligence should be observed but I know from my own experience that is the last thing on my mind when pursuing something I really want. I just hand over the money assuming the person I'm dealing with is as excited about the transaction as I am. The best example I can give you is when I bought my Classic Revival kit, I rang the manufacturer several times and had a brochure sent over. I never visited the office/factory in Sydney and never spoke to another kit owner. Even though the business owner was difficult to deal with I simply placed my order sent $5000 over and hoped for the best. Other than a few misgivings such as the paint quality on the chassis and the terrible alignment of one of the doors I think I was one of the lucky ones. I think the answer really is research every aspect thoroughly including, i. visit the manufacturer ii. ask for phone numbers of previous clients iii. contact cobra clubs iv. read associated books/magazines v. find forums such as Club Cobra vi. visit Cobras for sale Regards. |
I have been reliably informed by a new club cobra forum member that Mr. David Tucker is trying to sell his business on a Gumtree for $120k and the reason for sale is ill health.

since when does
knee caping bullet wounds slip throat baseball bat to the head be classed as ill health hahahahaha |

It is a solid fact that there is a lot of uninformed enthusiastic cobra fans out there...look at all the newbie comments...big dreams..big ideas and no idea about the hard cold facts about building / owning a Cobra....These poor sods are prime targets for the unscrupulous thieves out there.....It is this forums group quiet duty to steer these people away from the crooks in this hobby ! Tell it like it is !

Gents, I think the forum title and the discontent expressed over 6 pages certainly paints the picture well and truly for anyone even thinking of participating in any form of transaction with this "business".

Never told anyone to get their $$$ in person or go to court for starters!! Now Asking me to politely shut up after the old "Shut your Mouth"... too late for niceties maybe this is a prime example of where the term "Big Mouth Septic Tank"comes from. |
well I'm the peanut that said it is your quiet duty to inform new potential buyers about the pitfalls of buying and building a Cobra....I have also "quietly" informed others about the pitfalls of announcing changes to their cars after rego...I feel that discrete personal contact can inform somebody about the problem without alerting the authority or offender to their intended act ! deep **** eh...in other words tell somebody before they get stung !

Been lots of comments, 6 pages worth. Pretty entertaining sometimes also. Wonder if the thread has actually stopped anyone buying off Mr Tucker. Unfortunately I would think most people who are tempted probably don't read this forum.
