Hi All,

I remember reading of dramas of getting sidepipes engineered, something to do with exhaust emmitting pre any opening panel or door? Something along those lines?

Well today I took a photo of a Kia (I think) which actually had an exhaust pipe coming out in front of the rear wheel, with opening windows past the point of the exhaust?

You can't argue with the RTM(A). Baz was knocked back for LED blinkers and yesterday I followed two paddy wagons with LED blinkers. I had to place both speedo and tacho in front of the steering wheel as a speedo in the centre of the dash is illegal...what about minis,fiats etc.

I had no problems getting through with speedo in the middle and shiny stuff in the dash.

Gents,
The concern is not about exhausts and window placement - that went away in 2006 with the old ADR. However, the road traffic regulation won't let you have an exhaust exit on the left (go figure... I know of several mass produced cars that do). You can however apply for an exemption to this rule - how to apply is covered in the regulation itself.
