"Only 1 original car ever built to race at Le Mans in 1964.
This is an exact hand built aluminium reproduction of A98. Also the only one ever built.
The car is for sale as a manufacturing project complete with the following: spare 427 chassis (torsion tested), full wooden body buck on chassis frame, plans drawings and patterns, welding jigs, panel wheel, shrinker, stretchers on fly presses, jenny, swagers, anvil, sheet metal hand tools and steel heavy duty bench.
The car is registered as an I.C.V. (individually constructed vehicle) in Western Australia. Includes permits for side pipes and three point seat belt harnesses. Featured in Perth Street Car magazine Volume 18 number 2.
THE CHASSIS: 1965 big block Cobra frame (not the leaf spring model). All original 427 wishbones and uprights . Chrome moly suspension towers. Original 6 pin drive hubs with girling brakes.
GEAR BOX: Tremec TKO 500, 5 speed. Quartermaster centre push bearing.
DIFF: Salisbury 3.54 LSD
WHEELS: 15" Trigo Cobra 6 pin drive knock offs. Front 15"x7.5 rear 15"x9.5
TYRES: BF Goodrich F 15x245 R 15x275
SUSPENSION: Original 427 Cobra. Adjustable spax. 500 lb springs.
COCKPIT: Leather trimmed seats and dash. Smiths instruments, Lucas switches, Motolita steering wheel.
BODY: All aluminium to original profiles. Finished in brushed alloy. Twin filler caps, Lucas lights.
ENGINE: 351 Windsor fuel injected 50mm EFI quad throttle bodies. Aluminium pro 1 dart heads. Ross gapless pistons, scat rods, hydraulic cam 252°, yella terra flywheel, CVR electric water pump, rollmaster black timing set. Motec M48 ECU.
Also included in the price is two spare sets 16" AC autocraft MK4 wheels 6 pin drive wheels, one set fitted with Michelin Pilot tyres 225/60, 255/60. Car was first registered on 8/11/2010."

Wouldnt be too bad without the flares.

Unfortunately, although it comes with all the equipment, there would be very few people who could build another one. Its a dying art.

The car looks kinda better in real life..... The quality of work is pretty good and I believe it has a lot of Kirkham gear chassis / suspension wise. The interior is full of plane vents and switches which looks pretty cool. The Guy who built it also built an alloy body Cobra aswell a few years ago.

A very difficult shape to replicate and therefore very impressive as a one-off.

Difficult to tell from the photos whether the proportions on this replica are exactly the same as A98 though and it would look better in my opinion with paint!

I agree... she needs paint! But I certainly wouldn't through her out of my garage for leaking oil :cool:
