Very old urban myth.

Mmmm may be a myth but I know a certain former Cobra owner who pulled the diff out at the Cobra Nationals years ago and started to clean it, dismantle it in a hotel bathroom - well the rest is no myth.

On a similar note, a mechanic at one of my previous towns years ago would take his work home with him, litterally.
He had been known to perch up in bed watching television while lapping valves into cylinder heads.

Might as well make fun instead of hard work.

I once polished a vw transmission case in my bedroom rather than be in the shed in winter..my mum wasn't impressed. The carpet was a bit darker.

When I was still living with the oldies, I was heating up a axle retainer ring on the stove, and I put the hot pliers on the lino. The plier mark is stil there today.
