Promotional help please
Hi guys
As you know we are holding the Shelbyfest on the 22 - 24th of March at Winton Raceway in the fabulous Benalla region of Victoria and we are keen to get as many Ford enthusiasts along as possible. To that end I am looking for a little help...:o If you know anyone that may be interested in attending, let them know that Saturday will be the main track day and they are welcome to come along. It is totally free entry to the track and the pits. If they have a classic Ford ask them to bring it along and tell friends to come along with their classic cars also. Again it is a totally free day....**) Classic cars can park within the pit area below the top garages....**) Please let all your friends know about the Shelbyfest. Importantly, if they want to participate and have a Shelby type category car advise them to apply on line on the a victorian Cobra Club site - Shelbyfest. **)...**)...:D Shelbyfest Saturday 23rd March Winton Motor raceway Hume Highway turnoff Benalla Victoria Free entry to track and pits Bring your Classic Ford car Starts 0900 Saturday the 23rd is the main public promotional day. |

Bernie, would the local radio stations around Albury or Wang give it a free plug.I've been to the last 5 Shelbyfests as a spectator and i'm just curious if the car club has ever considered catering it themselves eg bbq and cold drinks, nothing to grand.

Thanks mate, I have been in touch with the OMD media group whom are the advertising media agency for my company. There have been both Press Releases and 30 second radio grabs prepared for the three radio stations at Benalla, Wangarratta and Albury. The releases go to the papers the first week of March with photos etc. My agency guys will follow up with calls to the papers and the radio stations re the radio adds. My company is sponsoring this along with print and magazine adds, this is part of our community budget surplus. What I need is some internal club promotion to Ford clubs and any individuals to either enter and compete or fire up their mates and club members to come along on the Saturday. This individual follow up and club follow up is where I need a little help. |

I was reluctant to respond on the issue of food until I could make a call. Winton has a catering facility that provides very reasonable food at market prices. As they have a contract for food supply within the entire Winton race way circumscribe, we can only provide food and drink for free. Even then we would be giving them some opposition at no charge. As they open and look after us each day time and they are a commercial entity we try and support them. Would be good to make a few dollars selling food..:LOL:... I know a few people who know how to do this quite well..:LOL: |

I have 6500 of them and they run out next month. Looks like fries and cheeseburger for the next week..:LOL: Hey keep collecting them as some of the major prizes are still out there. |

I am sure there is a lot of street rodders out there you should post it on ozrodders but they may be fords but run chevys are they welcome as you know...lol lol lol. Lindsay |
