Congradulations Australia
Congratulations, Adam Scott won the 2013 MASTERS golf tournament, becoming the first Australian to win the Masters in your countries history...
|
ditto, and Adam Scott a great guy to win it, class act all the way
|
It's a great result for Adam. He's been so close before and now he's finally nailed it. He was born in Adelaide but his family moved to Queensland when he was very young, he did his schooling up here in Queensland and he lives on the Gold Coast when he's in Australia so we're happy to claim him as one of our own.
I thought Jason Day was going to take the title ( by the way did I mention that Jason is also a QUEENSLANDER) but the incredible pressure got to him in the closing stages. His time will come but in the meantime, yes, huge congratulations to Adam Scott! |
Yay....
|
Well Done Adam, Really happy for him, especially after Adam Scott's "O-so-close-to-victory-but-only-to-have-the-rug-pulled-from-under-you" history.
Kudos to Jason Day & Mark Leishman for giving it a shake also... I really tip my hat to Angel Cabrera former Masters winner, very gracious in defeat... looks like a good bloke to have a beer with. |
Congrats!

Awesome win! The finish was amazing. They were laughing on the US broadcast that they were worried that Adam Scott might have hurt his hand when he gave his caddy the high five after the 18th hole.
|
One of my colleagues has been his sports psychologist for some years and he has always said that Adam had the mental toughness for the task, contrary to some media in Australia. One of the best swings in golf.

Brilliant Win.
Golf has been 'my game' since I was 12 years old so I have played a heap and know a stack of players on all tours, but dont know Adam personally. But people I know who do know him, say that he is a great guy. Interesting when he first came out, everyone compared his swing to Tigers, but qualified the statement by saying 'Tigers is better' Now its the oppositte. They way he swung coming down the stretch under pressure was amazing. His six iron swing into the second playoff hole was as perfect as you can get. Whilst Tiger (and others Rory etc) can get stuck with their arms behind their body and basically flip it back to square, Adam Scott 'covers' the ball so well on plane, that its actually hard for him to miss a shot. YOu will notice Tiger now exagerates his practise swing, swings left of targetkeeping his hands low through the shot...thats to stop getting 'stuck'. Anyway, enough of the technical stuff...great win and if he could have holed some putts early, he would have won by 6. Oh and by the way...I was supposed to go this year, but have delayed to 2014...great move hey? |
All he needs now is Gary Edwin as a coach... My son-in-law (off +2) in law swears by him.

Is that their dollars earnings or their phone numbers..:3DSMILE:
It all starts when they are young. We recently organised a charity day and there was a 15 year old girl amongst the participants. There was a little shuffling of players with some not wanting to play with her. Not knowing anything about golf, I watched her group to make sure she was treated ok and made to feel part of the day, as she had paid to be there. You know where this is heading... Once she hit off everyone around her were watching - a handicap on her sheet of +2 saw he group more than happy to be with her.. |
Mmmmm and a guy in Geelong just won $200,000 playing Poker.....
|
Now that they have changed the rule in relation to amatuer status, I found myself playing in a corporate day with a new Suzuki car as a hole in one prize...I reckon you will see this more and more.

One can theorise all day about the game BUT from a course owner, this is just what the game needs, an icon that youngsters can model themselves on, dreaming about the millions that they can make%/ and from what I know of Mr Scott, he makes a fine mentor.
Since Monday's result I have had an explosion of young fellas (and their Dad/Pops) coming out to the course, many for the first time. Hopefully the intolerant old buggers on the course give them some encouragement.....the youngsters are the guys that will be earning the bucks and paying membership fees to support struggling clubs |
