Planning a trip to Gold Coast and Brisbane next week Craig, si might pop in weds for another visit. Will let you know...
|
GT40MARK1, great to see you here. Thanks for the kind words. We've certainly got a lot of orders for our PACE GT as well. The guys here are looking forward to starting our next production run of them.
Guy, always welcome to drop in and visit. Wednesday will suit well. |
Craig.
What is the current lead time for an alloy bodied or a Composite/glass Pace?? Curious about the Chassis and bodies production?? Obviously chassis is in production here!!...do you hold stock or are the Bodies ordered and chassis manufacture started on Deposit or full payment receipt? OZ |
OZ, we unfortunately do not have as short lead times as I would like at the moment due to the popularity of our kits and the quality and production techniques used in manufacture.
We have a continual expansion program in place that is increasing our production capacity across the board to manage lead times. Alloy body, round tube steel chassis, PACE Kirkhams have a projected lead time currently of 9 months. Carbon body, alloy semi-monocoque chassis, PACE 427's have a projected lead of around 3 -4 months. These are a brand new kit and we are just getting the first units ready for delivery now. We do have a plan in place to keep PACE 427's in stock as there is a market for this sales approach. With the PACE 427 we are actually in front with both body & chassis production at the moment, but both bodies and chassis are rolling off the production line in quick succession now. The bottle neck has been in body fitment and finishing items. We just take a small fully refundable deposit to get in the order queue. Then progress payments when your body, chassis & other parts are being manufactured. Final payment only required when kit is ready for delivery or collection. Hope that helps OZ. |
Thanks for the quick response.
Just adds some info to the comprehensive package info you already have up!! Looks like things are really comin together up there!! Hope to get up there in the near future for a look and a chat. Cheers OZ |

Let me know when you are considering heading up. I may head up with you...:3DSMILE: I will be back in Australia at the end of August. And will fly up in late September to bring my Cobra back to Wakefield Park for Absolute Pace and Craig. But considering a flight up and back for a day prior in the first two weeks of September.. There is a flight from Tullamaine quite early in the morning - 6.00ish - that returns about 5.30pm from Coolangatta airport. We could grab a renter or Craig may drive down to grab us. Let me know your thoughts for early September... |
In my post on the 6/08 I had a Porsche G50 gearbox on order for my GT40 build.
The gearbox was sent on Friday 6/09 and arrived at home on Tuesday 10/09. A big thumbs up to Roger at California Motorsports for a great job, just like Craig he's great to deal with. He went over and above our contract with his rebuild. My apologise to Chris. I only read your message today and have sent you a reply. |

I have a lots of cool stuff here to show you as well, so it will be well worth the effort. |
Just a quick update on our business expansion:
I also have my new Production Manager up to full speed. Steve overseas all of the kit manufacture and workshop services we perform. This is really helping me to focus on other aspects of the business that need attention. We have just added another Miller Dynasty TIG Welding machine into our fabrication shop. It is fitted with all the fruit: Water Cooler, Thumb Control, long 8m leads etc. This will enable us to increase our PACE 427 chassis production rate and also assist with parts manufacture. We are so pleased with the high quality welds we can achieve with these high level machines. We are hoping to double our chassis production rate over the next few weeks. We have also been rapidly expanding our parts racking to cater for the growing quantities of PACE 427 parts and accessories. We supply & support close to 500 parts for the PACE 427. We have had bottle necks in fitting bodies to chassis. With some additional resources and expanding our body fitment tool set we are achieving a very high quality body fitment in the time frame we require. We are talking about millimeter perfect body fitment to chassis. The body can be removed and refitted by the owner and locate perfectly again. We are also expanding our Composites Shop, so if anyone is looking for that type of work or know of someone please get them to contact us. They will require a high level of expertise in this field. Current Absolute Pace work force: Steve - Production Manager Rob - Design & CAD Don - Technical Specialist and Prototyper Wayne - Assembly Technician Peter - Assembly Technician Taylor - Assembly & Parts Greg - Chassis Fabrication Specialist Dan - Chassis & Small Parts Fabrication Dennis - Body Finishing and Assembly Adam - Composites Specialist Pete - Composites Specialist Jorge - CAD Specialist Bruce - Alloy Body Specialist Phil - Suspension & Assembly Specialist Lee - Accounts Craig (me) - Everything else plus a few other helpers... |

I like the poster on the wall...
"Enthusiasts building vehicles for enthusiasts" Chassis 24 is coming along well. Is that a ClubCobra build? In the background, the black body without a scoop looks fantastic! |
Yes great marketing statement on the poster by AP.
Enthusiasts building vehicles for enthusiast. Says it all... |
