I've writtin to TCI. Yes I would like to do it properly, but no-one does a controller for a BTR trans. They write back asking what the hell is it?
That forum made it sound simple, just switching solenoids, but's it's more then that with pressures, phasing gears in and out. I have a VT with auto, and if I don't drive it for 2 weeks, it thumps into gear, and starts of in 3rd. I have to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and it's ok again. All this electronic stuff is great when it works, but having worked for the RAA road service for many years, I have seen so much of it fail, whether it's new or old. I don't trust any of it. JD |
if u do go aftermarket it can get expensive aswell
until u find someone that does an aftermarket ecu for your box and can give u heaps of hours on the phone for support then just run std ecu they are piss easy to wire up I got an ncii fairlane loom here with engine ecu and auto ecu and are very straight forward |
My cobra has sat for months on end and never gives trouble.

vts weren't the best of cars hehehe
the later ones were bit better but I prefer Toyotas as they are much better hehehe |
I don't own a VT just the engine setup in a Toyota Townace.
Goes like stink. I like the engine. never a problem.[touch wood]. OK I'll just run the standard ecu. I kept the wiring harness when I stripped the 91 Fairlane. I've got the wiring diagram etc. I will strip the loom and work it out. Thanks guys. I love this forum. JD |
I am putting a 5.0 Coyote motor into a Super Stock Mustang and wondering if anyone has any experience with bolting a transbrake C4 to the new Coyote motors? I need to get a custom converter built for this conversion and don't know what dimensions to give the converter builder. Using a Quicktime bellhousing and case fill C4 with 26 spline input. Am pretty sure I will be using a 164T SFI flexplate but if anyone out there has done this conversion, I would love to hear some of the details please. can send personal message to my email danasniff@cox.net thanks!
