Mando, this thread is a lesson on how to make a fantastic Cobra even better.
Amazing stuff, truly inspirational. :) |

Haha.
I wonder how many people over the years have been blinded by the incredible bling of your EFI system and failed to look at the level of detail that goes much deeper than just the intake. Your photos make it clear that this really is an obsession! |

I mention this as this is what I do.... all bolt heads must line up, all screw heads must line up. |
Leroy17, you sound as ridiculous as I do. After reading your post I also remembered that the stainless washers always have a slight rolled edge from being punched and that rolled edge must go against the nut or under the head of the bolt. CRAZY. :o

As long as it works, I just drive the $hit out of it. |

Mmmm, that didn't come out the way I thought it would! %/ Regards. |
Mando,
I had one fitting I could not source in silver or polished. I ended up painting it! Ben |

Yep, there's only one way to fit a flat washer.
Affliction or not Mando, that is a superb resultl. I just wish I had the patience to achieve it. |
Perfection
Nice work Mando,
I see what you are doing as perfectly normal:D My current project, I have new bolts all from the same manufacturer, size, thread etc etc. However this is only for mock up as I have found a bolt source that has absolutely messed with my head.:( Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminium Fasteners & Motorcycle Bolts | ProBolt These will be used on my Panel Van Trevor and All of Grovers bolts will be ARP 12 point in black. Love the arp stuff as there washers are a perfect fit. Need therapy desperately, maybe I pick you up on the way. Still my favourite car, when people see this they will be blown away, the detail is fanatical, and I have last seen it before it was finished. Game changing car. Phil |
Drop by my place on the way to Mando's, might as well make this a group therapy session.
All my bolts are Durlok Flanged bolts, then black ceramic coated..... i know, i know. |

I'm glad you guys post pics of your stuff. It's very impressive. Gives me something to shoot for... Err dream about, is probably more accurate. |
DaveW, I've never head of Durlock bolts. Do they have a website?
Regards. |
Mando,
The're just a good looking flanged bolt, very factory looking, i like the look better than using a washer. Lots of sizes so you can get just the ideal length. I use the flanged nuts as well, they have a slight serration in the base that locks them up against vibrating loose. i get them from here by mail; https://www.bolt.com.au/bolts-durlok...1011_1042.html Dave |
