3 metres at the gutters, about 3700 at the peak I think. I have seen some 2 post hoists that should fit. I think the budget will get me before headroom does!! :o Tony |
I like it !
Please do share with us your interior design and driveway plans... I'm in the process of planing some tweaks to ours. I'm guessing you wont be driving across that dirt in Tassie's winter mud...? Box is right... That grass looks parched and void of any rain. |
Hi Dimis
Some dry wind combined with excavators and concrete trucks killed the grass. It will not take long to recover. My very basic SketchUp skills came up with this basic layout... I am hoping for a hoist where the imaginary Cobra is... http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...AC2FA620F9.jpg |
Is the "leisure zone" in the shape of a bed???
The shed is coming along nicely, and that great size block gives you heaps of room at the front of the shed. A mate of mine extended his shed forward after a while to effectively have another 2 car carport. It was amazing how this extra shade at the front cooled down the whole shed. Maybe something to consider when the Cobra build starts! |
I'm confused wouldn't the leisure zone be the whole area in between the 4 walls of the shed.
|
Craig - close, that is the workbench!!!
Damage - I am planning to be hard at work in the shed. Hiding from the kids (and wife...)! If I cannot find anything to do I will just bang bits of metal together and watch TV ;) The leisure zone has the TV, stereo, bar fridge and couch. Maybe I should show it as a bigger area... It will probably get more use. Tony |

Currently the driveway is clayie-gravel. Like on some tennis courts, really fine. The bloody stuff gets everywhere! At least FCR will make a good base for future improvements, eg. bitumen or concrete. Craig - the shed builder commented on it being a good design to add onto. My wife's jaw dropped when I mentioned an extension!! But maybe she could park under the carport extension??? |
I,m getting shed envy big time, have you chosen your curtains and drapes yet

Hi Russell Yep!! We replaced some cruddy curtains and tracks in our rumpus room a while ago with roller blinds. My wife mentioned she was going to throw them out. Sorted!! I must admit I am very happy and lucky to be building this. I can only cross my fingers that a Cobra makes it in there one day. Every time my girls ask for something they cannot have I say 'what does daddy want?' They say 'a cobra' And I say - 'well I haven't got one, so you can't have a ********' (insert ice cream, Nintendo, Wii, iPad, boyfriend etc, etc) |

Tonus - thanks for posting I really like where you're coming from. Also I'm going to pinch that line off you when my kids start asking me for stuff. We are moving into our new place (& therefore new cobra hq) mid year. I'll have to start posting some pix too. I really enjoy a shed build thread. Boxhead's, Modena's among a few, and then who can forget Aussie Mike's shed of all sheds?! Keep the pix coming. |
Update:
The Shed is up! We had about 140 kmh winds this avo too - she passed! I got some Lonngspan shelving. A bit early though, as I have decided to do a sealer on the concrete floor. No colour or anything, just a seal. I laid out the loo and double laundry trough that I got from Gumtree as well. And this avo the trench was dug out - power and comms in the bottom, then water and sewerage as well... This gives me lots to do for my last week of leave. Tony http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...C2F6D9DAF2.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...347E08AE6E.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...B5D5144838.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...F6ED5DC5B2.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...FE63B6CEC4.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...307076C31F.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...96AFEBBF19.jpg |
Windows added...
Power and alarm/Cat6 conduit is now in too. Ready to be buried. And I got some shed 'artwork' laminated. I got them from Finish Line... http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...E2083872F4.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...F5BA382158.jpg |
Nice shed! Like the artwork too!

Tony
Looks great! Do you have a two storey house or did you climb on the roof for the photo? Have you considered lining the shed? Makes a big difference. Geof |
Hi 07cob
Yes, I got onto the roof... I had to match the 'before' photo where the backyard was like a nice park - not the warzone it is now! The Rats of Tobruk would be right at home here! I am planning 2.0 batts and yellow tongue flooring for the north and west walls at this stage... Will see how that goes for the short term... Cheers Tony |
Some progress shots. Lining the back corner so the plumber can finish. Then onto running some cables...
The way I am hanging the insulation blanket and then putting the sheets up is very slow. Lucky I don't charge by the hour! But that is the same for many things I do - find out later there is a much easier way... Ps - not sure how the panoramic shot will come out... Great progress with the shed, you know what they say about charging by the hour?
Hours x Rate = Happiness Any updates on your Kit? |
Hi mate
No progress on mine - still waiting, planning and saving. It is good having a few build threads up and running - gives me something to watch. I have to stop spending money on the shed though - added some blinds and boxed the window frames today... Quote:

a question for all the current Pace builders - are all the nuts, bolts, etc metric or imperial?
A guy at work is selling an old set of both, and my stuff is mostly metric Cheers Tony |
Bolt type
Bolt type for the PACE are mainly imperial. Use will also need Allen key set (imperial), torque wrench, 10mm c spanner, etc. The build manual gives a list of items. Bolt size goes up to 15/16" as per the manual. A 36mm socket is included in the kit for the castle nut. If you want a copy of the page I can send it to you. Cheers Pigsear.
