Shipping from USA to Australia?

I have a couple of boxes in L.A., which weigh around 30 kgs. Got a shock yesterday when my mate who is arranging the freight on my behalf to Sydney, informed me that Fed Ex International Economy in the States quoted $800. Any suggestions to get a cheaper rate?

USPS will be cheaper if it isnt too big\heavy. 70lb limit, so you might be right on the edge. Check here:

Baz

If you are in no rush, use a freighting slow boat mate, that's the cheapest way to get stuff across.

Obviously if speed is an issue that cuts that option out as you're on a 2 month time frame or thereabouts dependant on the freighter.

Fed Ex Economy quoted me $800 for a pair of crates weighing a total of 60lb. Shipnex was $350.

Spook, I can't help with shipping costs, but is that a Cobra exhaust or a diesel exhaust that you're getting?

spookypt 11-15-2013 07:09 AM

Hey mate, diesel. I've bought a new F truck.

Hi Guys

I just had a crate shipped over that weighed 240Kg's by air freight through UPS. (2 G50 transaxles, flywheels, etc.)

Airfreight cost $1230-00, and delivered in 5 days.

Give UPS a call.

I had a bull bar exhaust system tray liner and some other items shipped by UPS as a double pallet and I think it was $1100.00 they charge by pallet size or weight depending on. Other people charged me $2,800.00 for less weight on a single pallet (4 tyres and some suspension components). so make sure you get a quote and dont just be trusting (obviously)

I'm getting 4 wheels and tyres for $800, San Diego to Perth. Should be here in a couple of weeks so I'll see who Bob uses.
