Can you fit this......
So, I was browsing fleabay and came across this:
Chevy Turn KEY SBC 427 Stage 5 0 Dart Block Heads Crate Motor 605 HP QRP Rated | eBay Seems like a great deal from a reputable seller/builder. Is there any way you could register/comply this in a brand new Cobra such as my (shortly inbound) Pace 427SC?? TIA! |
Stick with an AU delivered engine with a factory ECU + tune if you are required to pass the IM240 test. Your engineer is the best person to ask.
|
Will be interested to see what your engineer says.
|
Can't help regarding engineering, but have to say that the engine looks like great value considering the parts fitted!
Engines at this price often have seasoned blocks and Pro-Comp garbage cylinder heads and no-name rotating assemblies, so Dart and Scat parts are a big improvement! |
No. Has no emissions controls on it and i doubt it would be possible to get a carb through the IM240 test.
That is unless you plan on using a club permit. |
I wouldn't buy it if it were mine, and there's not many possible loopholes I haven't investigated.
As it's a new block, it'll need a new engine number, and so it'll need to be as compliant as a new engine; carbs certainly wouldn't be compliant. Long and short of it would be to spend your money on compliant stuff. Treeve |
