Weathers looking good and the diffs back in the Cobra so looking forward to taking it

Great weekend.

I had the Cobra displayed just at the back of the start line on the grass.

Glad to have been able to catch up with a few fellow Cobra owners.

Wow....quick times.

Are they 1/4 Mile Drags...or timed 1/4 mile sprints?....bloody awesome times if they're drags.

Had a look at last years results...only one car cracked a high 11 seconds...

Those 2013 times had 40 cars in the 9's, 10's and 11's...
Jeeeeeezus !

Well done,
Cheers,
Warren.

I went down on Saturday and it is certainly a great event, bigger and better

Than last year,nice relaxed atmosphere.

It seems that the times where over a second quicker this year for everyone,

They must have used the same resurfacing company as Phillip Island :JEKYLHYDE

Are you talking about the speed trials or about Gav spitting on his palm????

Gav 12-03-2013 03:36 PM

It was a great fun event that I think I will attend again next year.
Loads of ex V8 supercars there, with all sorts of late model running gear.
Can't think of anyone building one of those.

I am still playing around down at Lorne today, home tomorrow.
Lots of gopro footage to upload once I am home.

Yeah who would be stupid enough to do that.....

Those Supercar engines are a pain in the A$$3
Who ever heard of preheating your engine before you can start it up.....

A guy up here who has a Cobra with a similar engine cannot do our A series event because it takes 30 minutes to start the engine. I'm not kidding!

Mine (when the big engine is done) will be just like driving your road car, get in start it up any time.

Good to catch up again Gav. Pity I didn't get much time though.
I nearly took the cobra for a spin down to Lorne on Tuesday arvo.

Gav your thermos are cranking, a little bit hot down there?
a mates dad was having a crack in his lotus super 7 down at geelong, i think he ended up pulling the windscreen off on his 3rd run and won his class.

Gav 12-06-2013 05:13 PM

The weather was superb all week.
I got a bit sunburnt on the Saturday, Sundays run to Lorne was very hot until we got to torquay and the sea breeze greeted us. :)

It was a great event with loads to see and do.

Got the Cobra there on Sunday for the display.

Rossba 12-08-2013 01:11 AM

Were you still hanging around Geelong on Thursday Gav?

Gav 12-08-2013 03:54 AM

Yep, we had things to do in Geelong Thursday, and I was in the cobra a fair bit before it pissed down.
Did you see me?

Towmaster 12-08-2013 04:25 AM

Is there a Bunnings in Geelong?

Rossba 12-08-2013 05:16 AM

Yea Gav, you were a couple of cars ahead of me over Breakwater bridge.
I was in the work ute and turned off to south Geelong

Gav 12-08-2013 01:53 PM

There is a bunnings in G Ash, but I didn't need any spares so I didn't visit.

My youngest broke his arm the day before we left so we had to get his arm checked and another cast put on before we came home. Outpatients, what fun...
I needed new tyres on the trailer too so we did that prior to going home aswell.
