python top wishbone bushes? disaster averted

Just wondering if anyone has replaced the top wishbone bushes on a python cobra.
After going to a show and shine this weekend i noticed a bit of squel coming from the lh side of the car everytime i went past a bit of armco or over a bridge.
I checked it out thinking the hand brake may of been dragging only to find the outer wheel bearing on the front hub had siezed due to the grease cap never being refitted at some stage.
but i noticed when i put a new bearings in that there is movement in the top wishbone bushes, it looks a bit like a holden hz-wb bush but not sure, any help would be greatly recieved.

When I had the front end done on mine, all the rubber bushes were flogged out. A mess and no guarantee it would not happen again as the car had done little work. Replaced with Teflon heim joints every where, wasn't cheap, but I like things to go in the direction pointed. No issues since.
Cheers

hi chris, i am only up to 9500 klm and the two front bushes are flogged out already, the rear front bushes look ok but probably will replace these anyway, i imagine this has happened because of the limited use it had before i got it and the rubbers perished after 13 years.
must admit i have noticed a few pythons with out the front greece caps fitted, i found out the standard cap wont fit so did a mod last night by putting 4 small hacksaw blade width cut in the caps outer edge to get them to fit.

Fair enough David, but I would avoid replacing the rubbers with more of the same if you can, its only going to happen again and if you like the track days its nice to have everything 'tight' and direct in the front with a good degree of adjustability thrown in.
Just my 2 cents..........
Cheers

I think Python used Jag front ends at some stage.
Could be worth checking.
Ring George with you chassis number.
He might know.

From memory the first cars used MG front ends and then later round tube cars had a custom fabricated front end. Looking at the pic on their site they are currently running a HQ Holden upright if that's any help.

Hi Mike, yes i gave george a ring, i replaced the front wheel bearings with a HZ-WB wheel bearing kit, apparently my front end was the prototype for the front end kit in the photo above, but has rose jointed custom rod ends, so unfortunatley they will have to be custom made bushes by the looks of it.
this is a pick of my front suspension when it was being built.
